Picnic @ Pasir Ris Green

It had been a long time since we had some program on a Saturday. Daddy pulled me out of my sleep early in the morning at 8.30am. But I didn’t mind coz we would be meeting some of my friends @ Pasir Ris Green for a picnic and horse watching session… =)

Horse Watching @ Gallop Stable
We didn’t see any familiar faces around after we alighted from the taxi @ the designated meeting point and thought that we were the first to arrive. Since we were early, Daddy decided to check out the Gallop Stable before the picnic.
Having a morning stroll to the Gallop Stable

The stable is just a short one minute walk from the car park. And Athena’s family was already there. The stable isn’t really very big (took us only 5 minutes to see everything) and we can see 7~8 horses/ponies around. All the horses in the stable have names and I like Jasmine most (maybe coz she is white).

One by one, the rest of the gang arrived - Samantha, Gabriel and Kieran.

The Picnic
We managed to secure a nice shady spot under some trees. Each of us brought some food – there were sandwiches, muffins, spring rolls, prata rolls (with cheese and sausages), sausages, cheese cubes, fruits and swiss rolls. The cheese cubes that Aunty Cynthia brought were so yummy that I popped a few into my mouth… =)

The picnic and my friends

Sharwyn was pretty late today (she only arrived while we were halfway through the picnic). I had lots of fun - we had horse riding, kite flying and watching “Hi-5” DVD. Yes! We were watching “Hi-5” DVD in the great outdoors… hehe (all thanks to Sharwyn’s portable DVD player). But after a while, only Athena and I left watching it… =P

Horse Riding
The Gallop Stable offers horse riding session (half round on the track costs $5 while a full round on the track costs $10).

Samantha was the first to try and she looked like having a great time. Daddy wanted to let me have a try and bought me a half round ticket. Daddy should know that I dislike sitting/riding/standing on an object that moves. First sign of warning came when I refused to wear the safety helmet. Then when I got onto the horse, I started crying. The horse handler got the horse to move a few steps to calm my nerves. Unfortunately, my crying got louder when the horse moved off. In the end, Daddy and Mommy decided to get me off the horse. The ticket didn’t go to waste as it was passed to one of my friends.

Daddy commented that I should go through some training on the merry-go-round before the next attempt.

Kite Flying
Uncle Ben bought a kite and Daddy decided to show me a trick or two in flying a kite. But I didn’t have much fun though (Daddy definitely had more fun than me). It was so sunny out in the field. After a short while, I got tired of watching Daddy and decided to join Mommy in the shade instead.

Mini kite flying session

After Daddy got tired of trying, Uncle Ben and Uncle Frankie had an attempt too. Gabriel and I decided to watch from a shady spot.

What a nice view from here…

Visiting Aunty Christina and Baby Christian
After the picnic, Uncle Eric gave us a lift to Compass Point to have lunch before we made our way to Aunty Christina's place. Baby Christian is already 6 weeks old and Mommy finally squeezed out some time to pay him a visit.

At Aunty Christina’s place, I kept myself busy by walking around the whole house. Baby Christian was lying in a playpen in the living room and I went around the playpen trying to catch a glimpse of Christian from all possible angles. Aunty Christina even prepared some yummy pastries for us to eat (some swiss rolls and éclairs). Daddy and Mommy were very surprised to see that I didn’t show any sign of tiredness.

Me and Baby Christian

While Baby Christian was taking a nap, Mommy decided that it was time to leave as it was getting late and Aunty Christina needed to rest. It was then that I started to feel tired and eventually felt asleep (on Mommy’s shoulder) halfway through the train ride home.

Breaking Two Personal Records
Today I broke two of my personal records - longest period without a nap: 7.5 hours (from 8.30am ~ 4.00pm) and longest period without a milk feed: 12.5 hours (5.30am ~ 6.00pm).

Mommy thought that it was most probably due to the high sugar content stuffs that I had been stuffing into my mouth since this morning.
