Down With Fever =(

Daddy and Mommy didn’t go to work today coz I was having a fever since yesterday afternoon. I had a few doses paracetamol since yesterday but my temperature was still high. It even hit 38.6 degree this morning. Daddy and Mommy decided to bring me to Dr. Koh for consultation.

I used to get along with Dr. Koh rather well. But recently I became very wary of him. I hated the cold and icy feeling of the stethoscope resting on my bare body. Whenever Dr. Koh tried doing that, I would turn away and screamed “nono”. I hated it too when he tried to look into my ear and mouth. After some examination, Dr. Koh diagnosed that the fever was due to viral infection. I was given a lot of medicine (some to stand-by just in case I would to develop cough and running nose). Daddy and Mommy had a quick lunch before returning home.

I wasn’t in the mood to eat anything for lunch and wasted Mommy’s effort coz I only managed to eat a few mouthfuls. My temperature hit 38.6 degree again in the afternoon and Mommy tried to sponge me. I kept on screaming and crying whenever I felt the cool towel on my forehead and body. Daddy tried to give me the “backside” medicine (Voltaren supp) (Dr. Koh mentioned that it should be given when the temperature went higher than 38.5 degree). Daddy didn’t manage to do it after a few tries (the medicine kept on slipping out) and I wasn’t in a mood to let Daddy do it for so many times. In the end, Daddy decided to stop and try again after a short while (when I forgot about the incident). Forget about the incident??? No way – Daddy forgot that I have good memory. Fortunately for me, my temperature went down after taking a dose of paracetamol.

I was much happy and active when I went down to take a walk in NTUC in the late afternoon. I even help Daddy to load his basket with tons of items that he didn’t want… =P. At least Daddy and Mommy were much relieved now, after seeing that I could still smile and walked around happily.

I took a shower after coming back from the walk. Daddy made used of this opportunity to give me the Voltaren and he was successful in this 2nd attempt (I didn’t notice much actually).

Finally I managed to consume most of the porridge that Mommy had prepared for dinner. And my fever was all gone in the evening after taking the Voltaren (1st time my temperature fell below 37 degree for today).

Both Mommy and me had a very tiring day and we knocked out early tonight.
