Sentosa Getaway: Day 2 (PM)

Insect Kingdom & Butterfly Park
My nap lasted for 2 hour plus (allowing Daddy and Mommy to have a peaceful lunch). Then I had a bit of raisin bread and leftover cinnamon croissant as lunch before we set off for the afternoon.

The weather was much better today. It was bright and sunny (lucky Mommy brought a sun hat for me… =)). We took a beach tram ride to the beach terminal and made our way to the Butterfly Park & Insect Kingdom by bus.
All equipped for a sunny afternoon

Waiting for the beach tram and onboard it

The Insect Kingdom is filled with A LOT of specimens of butterflies, beetles and other insects (hanged motionlessly on the wall) and A LOT of lively, climbing insects as well. All those insects made Mommy’s hair stood up throughout the tour. Daddy almost wanted me to take a picture with a LIVE scorpion (but Mommy was TERRIFIED).

So many insects in here

The butterfly park is an enclosed outdoor area with. There are many free-roaming flying butterflies and we can really get very close to them. You may even touch the butterflies (if u dare… =P). I got REALLY close to one.

WOW… This butterfly cost $880!!!

Orchid Garden
After leaving the Insect Kingdom, we hopped onto a bus and landed ourselves @ the ferry terminal. We took a break and I had my afternoon milk there.
Recharging... ... ...

Our next shop – Orchid garden. The Orchid Garden is pretty rundown and deserted. Daddy got an earful from Mommy coz he didn’t recall that they had their wedding photo shoot there. The place changed a lot since their last visit (some 3-4 years ago). It is still a nice place to visit and take photos as you can see many beautiful orchids around.

So many beautiful flowers… make me looks prettier… =P

As we ventured deeper into the garden, we discovered a pool full of fishes (Koi fish). They were very intelligent as they swam near to us and followed us when we walked around the pool (they probably sensed that we were going to feed them). Daddy purchased some fish food from a nearby vending machine. Getting hint from a sign that says “It is more fun to feed with your hand”, he fed the fishes with his hand and he said that it was fun. He commented that the fishes didn’t have teeth so they couldn’t bite (they just opened their mouths and suck). Mommy didn’t dare to try. I gave it a miss as well - just fed them by throwing the fish food 1 by 1 into the water. Sometime the fishes would swim really very close to me and splashed water onto me as they fought for the food.

Feeding the Koi fishes

We left shortly after we finished giving all the fish food. Daddy said that he would definitely come back here again next time.

We walked pass the fountain garden while we looked for a place to had dinner. I took some photos there and we had our first (and only) family photo taken… =).

Dinner @ Silver Shell Café (again)
We couldn’t find anything eatery around and island and ended up back @ Silver Shell Café in the hotel. We ordered off the A’la carte menu instead for the buffet. Finally I had a decent meal - had an improvised mixed veggie rice from steamed rice with broccoli, fish, mushroom and bean curb.

We went back to our room after dinner. So bored – right? That was why I started looking for thing to eat in the fridge and I got lucky - found a plum =P. Then I decided to play hide-and-seek with Daddy.
Lucky me – found a plum

Don’t tell Daddy I am hiding in the closet

What a tiring day! Tomorrow we will be leaving liao… =(
