Baking Session @ Aunty Mel's Place

Aunty Mel invited us (plus Gabriel and Sharwyn’s families) to her place for a lunch-cum-swimming-cum-baking session. Although the weather didn’t look good (the sky was very cloudy) when we left home, Daddy brought along my swimming costume just in case the sun decided to come out from hiding.

Morning @ Tampines
Mommy decided to pay GongGong a visit before our lunch appointment and we set off early in the morning so that we could spend more time there. However, as soon as we stepped inside GongGong’s place, I started fussing - claiming that I wanted to go home. It turned out that I was just feeling hungry (coz I hadn’t had my breakfast yet). After drinking a bottle of milk, I felt much better. We hanged around until noon and made our way to Aunty Mel’s place.

Afternoon @ Bedok Reservoir
It was still raining when we reached Aunty Mel’s place (our swimming session went down the drain just like the rain). And we ran into Gabriel’s family in the driveway.

When we entered the house, we were greeted by Poppy (Aunty Mel’s dog) who was “saying” hello to us from the kitchen. Daddy asked if I wanted to give her a pat – I wanted to but didn’t dare. In the end, I just watched from a distance.

Aunty Mel had prepared a lot of food for us (there were fried bee hoon, Shepherd pie, chicken wing, fishball and curry chicken.). I had some of the fried bee hoon and fishballs while waiting for Sharwyn’s family to arrive.

After filling up my stomach, we entertained ourselves with some of Athena’s toys while Aunty Mel and Aunty Kelly prepared the dough. Uncle Kevin even took out Athena’s drum set and we had fun playing with it (especially Gabriel and Sharwyn). It seemed like Gabriel and Sharwyn were practicing for the next season of SuperBand… hehe.

In the end, only Athena and I were keen in the baking session while Gabriel and Sharwyn preferred to explore rest of Athena’s toys. Daddy assisted me in cutting out the cookies with varies moulds. But very soon, I began to lose interest too. In the end, it turned out to be a baking session for the daddies. Instead of using the moulds, the daddies preferred to shape the dough with their free hands, resulting in many funny looking cookies in the shape of animals (snake, fish, turtle, pig etc), vehicles (car, airplane, tank, train etc) and other objects (hotdog, snowman, mahjong tiles etc). I think the daddies had more fun than us (the kids)… hehe.

It took a while for the cookies to be baked but it was worth the wait as the cookies were really delicious. We even brought some back with us… =). It was a pity that we don’t have any oven at home, else Daddy thought that it would be a great idea for us to bake some cookies on our own too.

We left Aunty Mel’s place at around 4.30pm. By then I was super tired and fell asleep shortly after I got into the car. It was yet another great gathering for us.

Thank you Aunty Mel for inviting us over… =)

Dining Back Home
I continued my nap at home and only managed to wake up for a shower and dinner at around 6.45pm. Today, the duty chief was Daddy. And Daddy tried something new – stir fried udon. I ate a lot (almost finished everything that Daddy had prepared). Daddy thought that either the udon was very nice or I was simply too hungry… =P
