Last Day of 2005

Today is the last day of 2005... time really flies.

Daddy wanted to bring me for a swim in the morning but the weather didn't look good – the sky was hazy for the whole morning. In the end, we stayed @ home for the whole morning.

In the afternoon, Daddy and Mommy packed my lunch and we went over to visit GuGu. We stayed longer than intended coz the heavy downpour prevented us from leaving. Aidan KorKor let me played with some of his toys to play and books to read
Daddy was spot on - the fall that I had on Wednesday really left a bad big ugly bruise on my left cheek. =(

My First Sleepover @ Nanny's

Last night was the first time I didn't sleep @ home since I was born (the first 3 nights in the nursery and the overnight "sun-tanning" session for treating jaundice didn't count).

Daddy and Mommy were tied down with 5th Grand Uncle's funeral so they let me stayed over @ Nanny's place for a night. I knew that Daddy and Mommy were busy with something and I was an angel throughout the sleepover. I didn't cause any problem for Nanny @ all. Although I woke up once @ 3am but I managed to fall back to sleep after a few pats.

I overheard that Daddy and Mommy commented that since I was okay with such arrangement, they could let me sleepover if required in the future (They are so heartless... =(. I should have created some troubles).

My First Major Bruise

Ouch!!! It was really painful for me.

While I was trying out my new stunt (trying to pick up objects with my toes) tonight, I slipped and fell. The worst part was that I hit my left cheek against the wooden bedframe – OUCH!!! It was really painful and I cried for a few minutes while Daddy and Mommy tried to comfort me.

After I was much calmer, Daddy examined my injury – my left cheek was all red and swollen. Daddy commented that a major bruise would surely show up in a day or two... =(

My Boxing Day & A New Chef Reporting

A New Chef In The House
YES!!!!! It had been confirmed, signed and sealed with a chop. Chef Tan has offered to cook for me one day a week (he has chosen Saturday) while Mommy will continue to cook for me on Sunday... hehe. This proposal was very timing as Mommy was drained of ideas on what to prepare for my meals during the weekends. Hopefully Chef Tan is able to inject some "spices" into my meals. =)

Shopping On Boxing Day
With nothing much to do @ home and no program for the day, we made our way to Orchard. But before that, Daddy went over to visit his 5th Uncle (my 5th Grand Uncle) in SGH. I didn't go up to the ward – Mommy and I waited for Daddy @ Delifrance.

First stop – Forum Shopping Center. Mommy got me a post-Christmas present – it is a songbook with a toy piano attached. It is easy to play the songs coz I just need to follow the lights on the keyboard... =)

Second stop – Shaw Center. Daddy and Mommy had a hard time looking for a place for them to have lunch (and for me to have mine as well). Most places either didn't have baby chair or were too crowded (with a long queue). In the end, we settled for a late lunch @ a Japanese restaurant called Hoshigoka (@ Shaw Center Level 4). I was a good baby coz I let Daddy and Mommy finished their lunch in peace while I was busy looking around even wiping the area around me... hehe.

After lunch, we walked around Isetan – Mommy wanted to have a preview coz she will be going to the private sales @ Isetan on Wednesday. We didn't hang around for too long coz Daddy had to go back early to prepare my dinner before going to a wedding dinner tonight.

Daughter/Mommy Bonding Time
It was daughter and mother bonding time for Mommy and me tonight. Daddy went off to attend his friend's wedding dinner after cooking my dinner (he didn't even say good bye to me coz I was taking my afternoon nap). Anyway, I had a great time with Mommy. =)

My Christmas and A Molar

Ho... Ho... Ho... Merry Christmas!!!!! =)

Uncle YiZhao's Housewarming Party
Uncle YiZhao and Aunty Melody invited us to their mini-housewarming party (only immediate relatives were invited). Since their house is so near to GongGong's place, we went back to visit TaiMa and GongGong before going over with YiYi. I had my second log cake... yummy. =)

Uncle YiZhao's place is very nice (Actually "nice" is an understatement. Please pardon my incapability to pull out any bombastic word from my limited vocabulary that can best describe the place =P). There are many paintings and unique furniture there. Most of the ideas are from Aunty Melody (from selection of painting to colours of the wall). Mommy was so impressed that she wanted to "book" Aunty Melody to design for our future flat (so KS... =P).

Although there were no toy and no one around my age in the house, I still enjoyed my afternoon there. How did I occupy myself???? Well... I played piano for a while. I enjoyed staring into the BIG mirror @ the basin cum dressing table in the Master bedroom.

Are you seeing double... hehe

There are a lot of games to play @ Uncle YiZhao's place (but all are too complex for me). I could only look on while the YiYis and Uncles were enjoying their game (Hopefully I will be able to play with those games soon).

While we were on my way back home on the MRT train, I met this KorKor who wanted to play with my fan and read my boardbook. Being a nice lady, I let him played with my fan. He even posed for a picture to be taken by Mommy... wahaha.

My First Molar
If you have super eye-sight, you may have spotted my first molar in one of the photo in the previous posting. For the benefits of all, this is a close-up look @ my molar.

My Development Updates
  • Able to walk more comfortably with just one hand held
  • Walked unassisted for 3-4 steps (but without any ability to balance myself) – Daddy said technically I am not "walking unassistedly" yet =(
  • Pouted when Mommy says "Kiss Kiss"
  • Like to play with my shoes and attempt to put them on myself
  • Completed reinforcement of the concept of "ear"
  • In progress: concept of tummy (slightly understand and need a bit more work), nodding head to indicate "YES" and shaking head to indicate "NO" (no sign of understanding and require LOTS of effort)

My Christmas Eve

Do I look good in green? =)

Anyway, Daddy told me this story while I was having my breakfast @ Chinatown Point this morning.

Long long time ago, in a far away land, there lived a man called Mr. Green. He was crazy over the colour green – he lived in a green house, drove a green car and even dyed himself in green. One fine day, Mr. Green was enjoying his shower was in green bathtub in his green house (even the water was green in colour).

“Ding Dong”. Suddenly the green door bell rang, and Mr. Green got up and wrapped himself with a green towel and walked towards the green door. Mr. Green opened the green door and saw this postwoman standing in front of the door. Oh… the postwoman had Christmas present for Mr. Green. She handed over the parcel to Mr. Green and asked him to sign on the acknowledge slip. While Mr. Green was signing the slip, his towel dropped off.

“AAAAHHHHH!!!!!” The postwoman saw everything, let off a scream and ran across the road to her van.

“BANG!!!” Unfortunately, a lorry speeded past and knocked down the postwoman.

The moral of the story……… Don’t Cross The Road When The Green Man Is Flashing!!! (Please highlight this portion of the story if you want to know the answer. If not, keep on guessing.)

PS: Just my bo liao Daddy sharing 1 of his bo liao jokes.

Breakfast @ MacDonald’s
Anyway, back to my Christmas eve. It was back to basic for this morning as Daddy and Mommy went to MacDonald’s for breakfast. Daddy shared his hotcakes with me. After breakfast, we went to China Square to walk around and shop for a while in the Cold Storage. Outside Vil’age, I made friend with this little baby bull – he is so cute… hehe.

Uncle Rongyao’s Visit
Uncle Rongyao came over our place to visit Daddy and Mommy (and me of coz =P). I was quite shy @ first (as usual). But still manage to warm up in time to play with him for a while. He didn’t stay for too long coz he had to go to fetch Aunty Bell after that.

For the remaining part of the day, Daddy and Mommy stayed @ home to do their “will-never-ever-be-finished” housework.

My Christmas Present
I didn’t know what to get for Mommy this Christmas so Daddy helped me to shop for one. In the end, Daddy helped me to get this photo frame so that Mommy could place one of the studio-taken photos in her office.
My Christmas Present to Mommy

I collected some Christmas presents over past one week and Daddy had refused to let me open them up before the actual day… =(. Finally, Daddy let me opened my present tonight… hehe.

A BIG Thank You to all Aunties and Uncles for your lovely present. *Muack*

End Note: What a boring Christmas Eve... Daddy says that it will be more happening and fun-filled in years to come. (Let's hope so too... =))

Christmas Lighting Part 2

Tonight NaiNai went to another Christmas party (don't know how come she got so many parties to attend one?), so we had to eat out tonight. Mommy suggested going to Orchard to complete her Christmas shopping and we could complete our viewing of the Christmas lighting too.

First stop – Scotts Shopping Centre. Mommy picked up some Christmas presents and we proceeded to Picnic (the foodcourt) for dinner. So glad that Daddy didn't let me shop in my pyjamas (he brought a set of clothes for me to change before I left Nanny's place) coz I ran into a friend today @ Picnic. The person is ...... *drum roll*...... *drum roll* ...... *drum roll* ......
Gabriel KorKor

Aunty Kelly was there to do some shopping as well.

After dinner, we went to Tangs with them to shop for a while. I had a lot of fun walking around and doing my own shopping... hehe.

After bidding farewell to Gabriel KorKor, we continued our stroll down Orchard Road to see the Christmas lighting even though it was drizzling. The lighting wasn't really very fantastic. We took a few photos before making our way home coz it was my bedtime liao.

Stay Home Sunday

Breakfast @ Chinatown Point
We had breakfast @ Delifrance this morning. With that, we had sampled all outlets (namely MacDonald's, Swensen's, Coffee Bean and Delifrance) that serve breakfast in Chinatown Point. (The following comments are written based on Daddy's opinion which none of them reflects my stand. =P)

a) MacDonald's
Used to be Mommy's favorite (coz BK and KFC don't have a good varieties). There is variety of menu to please different crowd – hotcake, big breakfast or just MacMuffins. However, the coffee tastes horrible.
Price of food: Lowest among the four outlets
What can I eat: Hotcake, bun from filet-o-fish

b) Swensen's
All breakfast set comes with a glass of fruit juice and a cup of coffee/tea. Mostly, they serve typical American style breakfast with egg and sausages. Nothing special about the coffee but at least it tastes better than MacDonald's.
Price of food: Highest among the four outlets and prices are subjected to GST + service charge + government tax (which is a turn-off)
What can I eat: Toast, pancake, waffle

c) Coffee Bean
They don't have a long menu but at least they have something for everyone (maybe almost something for everyone) - ranging from "Big Breakfast" style breakfast to ½ boiled eggs with toasts. All breakfast sets are served with some preserved fruits (something differ from the rest). The plus point is that the coffee/tea is GOOOOOOD. Mommy's favourite tea is Japanese cherry.
Price of food: In-between that of MacDonald's and Swensens
What can I eat: toast, waffle (but Chinatown Point doesn't serve waffle =( )

d) Delifrance
Sandwiches and pastries are their main draws. Their breakfast sets are just normal (too plain in fact). And they are served in over-sized plates which make the portion looks pathetically small. Coffee/tea is normal too (but better than MacDonald's).
Price of food: Similar to Coffee Bean
What can I eat: bread, roll, muffin

The verdict: Daddy and Mommy are fine with paying a bit more in order to enjoy a cup of GOOOOD coffee/tea...... =) As for me, I think I prefer Delifrance. Why??? Coz the manager Uncle offered to "bride" me with a chocolate muffin this morning... hehe.

Visiting Aidan KorKor
We went up to GuGu's place to deliver their Christmas presents and to visit Aidan KorKor. Aidan KorKor wasn't feeling well and he was restricted from getting too near to me. Poor Aidan KorKor got to take some Chinese medicine. Hope that he will recover soon. We didn't stay long coz we didn't want to disturb Aidan KorKor.

Stay Home Sunday
Daddy and Mommy didn't plan to go out today (even though I had a picnic date with some friends), they claimed that they had TONS of housework to do. Being a sweet little angel (I not pai seh one... =P), I slept from 11am to 1pm – giving Daddy and Mommy free time to do their housework.

In the afternoon, I even "helped" out Daddy in packing my drawers of clothes. My wearable clothes are getting lesser and lesser. Daddy said that I have out-grown most of my clothes - Great time to go shopping... hehe.

My Development Updates
  • At ease during assisted walking (with 2 hands)
  • Able to take few steps when assisted to walk (with 1 hand) but my sense of balancing is still lacking
  • Equipped with a latest weapon – high pitched eardrum-piercing scream
  • Prefer to address Mommy as "Mee"
  • Like to look into the mirror and make funny faces
  • Love to walk in all directions (any direction other than the one Daddy and Mommy want to go)
  • Play "Hide and Seek" and "Catching" with Mommy/Daddy
  • Know another part of my body (other than tongue and nose) - ears (but need to reinforce)

Ho... Ho... Ho... Santa Claus is Coming to Town

Does the above scenes look familiar? That is what I usually will do on the MRT train. And this morning we took a long train ride to Punggol again (Aunty Sharon's place) for my second playgroup.

2nd Playgroup @ Punggol
We were to last to arrive Aunty Sharon's place.

Attendance: Sharwyn, Rhyan, Gabriel and Me (Quinn and Justin "skip" lesson)
Theme: Christmas (what else could it be since Christmas is coming)
Playgroup Outline:
1. Sing-along Session (by Mommy) – We sang Christmas carols of coz =)
2. Story Telling Session (by Aunty Kelly) – Aunty Kelly told a story on how Uncle Santa dressed up for Christmas
3. Art & Craft Session (by Aunty Sharon) – I "made" a Christmas tree this time (Mommy did most of the work lah =P)
4. Meet the Santa Session – It was the scariest part of the playgroup
5. Meet the Log cake Session (and eat it of coz... yummy) – Christmas will never be complete without a log cake, right?

Talking about scary incident, I just had one this morning when I met this guy in red with white beard (the adults called him Santa). In fact, all of us (the babies) were terrified by him. The adults even wanted us to take a photo with him. Rhyan was the bravest coz he was the first one to have his picture taken. Gabriel clung onto Aunty Kelly tightly during his turn. As for Sharwyn and me, we cried during our turns. =(

Actually, this Santa guy looked rather familiar... I thought I saw him before??? Oh.. I know who he is lah (DADDY say I can't reveal Santa's secret identity in here =P).

After the "terrifying" experience, we watch Barney together. I noticed that all of my friends are die-hard Barney's fans (just look @ the way their eyes were glued to the tv =P).

Visiting Aunty Christina
We left for Aunty Christina's place (@ Seng Kang) after my lunch and I was so tired that I fell asleep on Mommy's shoulder minutes after we left Aunty Sharon's place. I slept throughout the MRT-LRT journey and continued my nap on Aunty Christina's sofa. Aunty Christina is expecting a boy. Great!!! I will be having another new friend to play with next year =).

Dinner @ HabourFront
Tonight NaiNai had to attend a Christmas party (very happening hor?). So, Daddy and Mommy went out to have their dinner (@ Seah Im Food Centre - opposite HarbourFront). After that, we went to HabourFront Centre to shop. We finally completed 90% of our Christmas shopping there.
