Mommy's Sick

Mommy wasn’t feeling well since last night. She had been throwing out every single thing she ate since last night. In the end, Daddy decided to send Mommy to Raffles’ Emergency Clinic after dropping me off at Nanny’s place. Luckily HuiQi JieJie was around to entertain me.

Daddy only came over to fetch me after 3 hours so that Mommy could rest peacefully for a few hours without me around.

Session 4 @ Ros SchoolHouse

I woke up very late this morning (at around 9am). And I managed to continue my good work with the potty.

Session 4 @ Ros SchoolHouse
Today session started off with a mini baking session instead of the usual sing-along or games. Mommy helped me to roll and flatten the dough. After that, we made some number cookies with the cutters and formed some golden numbers for Daddy… hehe.

Our mini baking session

The “golden” numbers

Aunty Ros sent the cookies for baking while we continued with the rest of the session. By the end of the lesson, we had delicious cookies waiting for us… =).

Today was the fourth session and I was getting more warmed up with each passing session. Although I managed to answer some questions but I still wasn’t willing to open my “golden” mouth. After the lesson, we went to Aunty Kelly’s place for a tea session before making our way to GongGong’s place.

Visiting GongGong @ Tampines
I was so tired that I fell asleep in the car during the journey to Tampines. I continued my nap until 7pm. That was when Daddy woke me up from my nap coz it was getting late. I didn’t want to wake up and fussed for a while. I had my dinner (YiYi’s fried rice) before calling it a day.

Another Day With Daddy

Today, Nanny had to take another half day off as she needed to go to the hospital to do another blood test at 10am. Daddy decided to take another day off to accompany me while giving Nanny a full day off instead.

Full Dress Rehearsal
I will be starting school on next Thursday (01/02/07). Mommy thought that today was a good day to do a full dress rehearsal. Mommy dressed me up in my school uniform and I left with Daddy and Mommy for school early in the morning. We even dropped by the hawker center for breakfast (Mommy complaining about me taking away her only couple time with Daddy… =P).

Me in my school uniform

When I stepped into the school, the playground outside caught my attention immediately. I wanted to go out to explore the area but it was raining and I couldn’t do so. There are many toys in the school too. Mommy wanted to bring me to see my teacher, but I wasn’t keen. I saw too many strange faces around and it scared me. I refused to go into the classroom and decided to hang around the gate instead.

Finally, Mommy managed to convince me to go inside to say “hello” to my teacher after 15 minutes of sweet talking. I saw many kids around my age inside the classroom (they are my soon-to-be classmates). We hanged around for a while before saying goodbye coz Mommy got to go to work. Mommy promised to bring me back here again and I said “ok”.

After that, Daddy brought me back to office for a short while just to check that things were in order before heading home.

A Trip To The Library
With nothing to do, Daddy brought me to the library to kill some time. And we ended up in Bukit Merah Community Library. We were there slightly before 10am and had to wait for 5 minutes before they opened for business.

Searching for books to read

They had a row of books for toddlers there and we spent around 45 minutes there before making our way home. Within that 45 minutes, I made Daddy read 10~15 books to me… =P.

We stayed at home for the rest of the afternoon as I took an unusual 3 hours long nap.

Breakthrough In Toilet Training
I had a breakthrough in toilet training today. Daddy read me this book “The Toddler’s Potty Book” (by Alida Allison) while we were in the library. I was so motivated by it that I requested Daddy to bring the potty out when we reached home. And for the very first time, I managed to pee into the potty. It was a pleasant surprise for Daddy coz I only managed to pee on the floor in the bathroom and I never like to sit on the potty so far (I usually fussed big time when Mommy put me on the potty). Mommy was delighted too when Daddy told her about this… =).

Mommy and Daddy's Day Out

Mommy and Daddy took leave to spend time without me coz today is their 4th wedding anniversary. But they didn’t forget about me… =). They went to this company (Beacon Educational Supplies @ Toa Payoh) that sells art materials and teaching aids (recommended by Aunty Ros) and they bought many stuffs back for me – 2 reams of drawing paper, 5 bottles of washable paint, a pint of fruit counters, a box of flash card, a set of small markers and some arts material.

Mommy’s loot

The fruit counters were so interesting. I could do so many things with them – I could count them, I could sort them according to their colours, I could group them into different groups etc.

Counting and sorting out the fruit counters

Puzzle time
I enjoy playing puzzle. Daddy likes puzzles too (judging from the number of puzzles he had made for Mommy last time). Daddy said that it is a good training for my memory and logic thinking.

He would show me an actual puzzle and asked me to take out my imaginary camera to take an image of the puzzle in my mind before he broke the puzzle into pieces. Then I would try to assemble the puzzle by trying each piece at a time until I completed the puzzle. Daddy would give me a little hint here and there.

I Love To Draw

I love to draw. My favourite is to draw faces.

Usually, I will start with drawing a circle as the face (but most of the time, the circle will look like anything else except a circle). Next, I will add two little dots as the eyes. The nose will be a random stroke (it can be a short line, a tiny dot or just any random stroke that I place onto the face). The face I drew will definitely have a smiley mouth. Lastly, I will draw two loops by the side as the ears (Daddy always commented that my ears look like arms to him).

Mommy thought that it was decent enough to show others… hehe.

I Fell Sick Again =(

I didn’t have a good night last night. I was tossing and turning although the night coz my nose was so blocked that I had problem falling asleep. I felt so bad that I couldn’t fall asleep even after taking my usual bedtime milk feed last night. Plus, I was having this bad cough.

Seeing that I had such a bad night, Daddy and Mommy felt that it warranted a trip down to Dr Edmund Koh in the evening. As expected, the clinic was filled with patients on a Monday evening. I got another opportunity to get an update on my current weight and height. I am currently 13.7kg and 88cm now.

As usual, Dr Koh mentioned that my throat was a bit reddish. He gave me some medicine for sore throat, running nose and coughing. And a pack of gummy bears just before I left… =).

It's Back To Bugis Junction Again

We didn’t have any program for today. Initially Daddy wanted to bring me for a drip in the pool. But the recent weather wasn’t ideal for that and he decided to postpone that until the weather gets a bit warmer.

We went to Bugis Junction again coz Daddy wanted to change the pair of shoes (which he had bought for me on Thursday) to a bigger size as the current size was a bit too fitting. At the same time, we could have lunch there. Mommy knows that I love udon, so we went to a Japanese restaurant (Hoshigaoka) for lunch. We ordered two sets of set lunch as they came with free desserts. The udon was so nice that I managed to finish one and a half serving (small serving) on my own… =).
Having my favourite udon

It’s dessert time… =)

After lunch, we went to Seiyu for a stroll. Mommy bought me another box of puzzles to play with. Somehow, I started to feel really tired after the walking. I was so tired that I ended up lying on the floor in the middle of the pathway inside Seiyu. A few people gathered around me and wondered what was happening. Mommy was caught in a rather embarrassing situation. Lucky, Daddy came over to rescue Mommy from the scene. Mommy decided to pay for the stuff and we went home after that. I knocked out within seconds when I got into the car.

I napped for 2 hours. Daddy and Mommy didn’t go out for the remaining of the day as they had some household work to complete.

Session 3 @ Ros SchoolHouse

We went to Aunty Kelly’s place for lunch before my lesson today. While I was watching the TV from the sofa, Gabriel was getting too close to me and I didn’t like it. I called out to Mommy and Daddy for help. But Daddy and Mommy told me to tell Gabriel that I wanted to watch TV. I didn’t dare to. I remained motionless and kept quiet instead until Gabriel moved away on his own. Daddy and Mommy were worried that I will be bullied when I go to the childcare center in February.

Third Lesson @ Ros’s Schoolhouse
Today was our third session and we started our session with a memory game. We were required to look for matching wooden tiles that were overturned. I managed to get a few pairs of matching tiles (with Mommy’s help of coz).
Playing the memory game with my friends

Although I still didn’t manage to answer any of Aunty Ros’s questions today, I was a bit more warmed up than the previous sessions and I was more responsive (at least I did point to the answer).

After the session, we went up to Aunty Kelly’s place for some tea. She even baked some raisin butter cake for us.

I Love Arts and Crafts
After my waking up from my nap, I pestered Mommy to take out the other glass deco piece (an owl) for me as I was in the mood for some arts and crafts work. This time round, I did most of my work on my own with minimum guidance from Mommy/Daddy. Instead of finishing the whole piece, I decided to do it bit by bit so that I have that to entertain me whenever I am bored. I will ask Daddy to show you my masterpiece once I complete it… =).

Afternoon Out With Daddy

Nanny had to go for another medical checkup this afternoon, so Daddy took half-day leave and came over to fetch me at around 1pm. Since I had already taken my nap, Daddy brought me out to do some shopping instead of heading home. And we ended up in Bugis Junction.

There weren’t many people around here on a Wednesday afternoon and I had a lot of space to roam around on my own. We had a nice walk in Seiyu and spent some time loitering around the kid section. Daddy even bought me a pair of sandal (after listening to some advices that I should have a pair of shoes that can be wore on my own since I will be starting school soon).
My new sandal

We walked for an hour before Daddy started to feel tired and asked me if I would like to sit down and have a piece of cake – I replied with a BIG “yes”… =). At first, Daddy wanted to go to the Coffee Beans, only to discover that it isn’t there anymore. In the end, we settled down in TCC. He ordered a marble cheesecake and an Oreo milkshake. The cake and the milkshake were really yummy… =).
Waiting for my cake to come

Having milkshake and cake with Daddy

After the tea break, we headed for home to take a break before going over to pick Mommy up for dinner. We went to Vivo City for dinner. I had rice with sliced fish and little bit of handmade noodle.

It was a nice afternoon out with Daddy… =)

Baking Session @ Aunty Mel's Place

Aunty Mel invited us (plus Gabriel and Sharwyn’s families) to her place for a lunch-cum-swimming-cum-baking session. Although the weather didn’t look good (the sky was very cloudy) when we left home, Daddy brought along my swimming costume just in case the sun decided to come out from hiding.

Morning @ Tampines
Mommy decided to pay GongGong a visit before our lunch appointment and we set off early in the morning so that we could spend more time there. However, as soon as we stepped inside GongGong’s place, I started fussing - claiming that I wanted to go home. It turned out that I was just feeling hungry (coz I hadn’t had my breakfast yet). After drinking a bottle of milk, I felt much better. We hanged around until noon and made our way to Aunty Mel’s place.
Entertaining myself @ Tampines

Posing for photo @ Tampines

Afternoon @ Bedok Reservoir
It was still raining when we reached Aunty Mel’s place (our swimming session went down the drain just like the rain). And we ran into Gabriel’s family in the driveway.

When we entered the house, we were greeted by Poppy (Aunty Mel’s dog) who was “saying” hello to us from the kitchen. Daddy asked if I wanted to give her a pat – I wanted to but didn’t dare. In the end, I just watched from a distance.

Aunty Mel had prepared a lot of food for us (there were fried bee hoon, Shepherd pie, chicken wing, fishball and curry chicken.). I had some of the fried bee hoon and fishballs while waiting for Sharwyn’s family to arrive.
Enjoying the sight from the balcony

After filling up my stomach, we entertained ourselves with some of Athena’s toys while Aunty Mel and Aunty Kelly prepared the dough. Uncle Kevin even took out Athena’s drum set and we had fun playing with it (especially Gabriel and Sharwyn). It seemed like Gabriel and Sharwyn were practicing for the next season of SuperBand… hehe.
Our jamming session

Gabriel and Sharwyn forming a band for the next SuperBand… hehe

In the end, only Athena and I were keen in the baking session while Gabriel and Sharwyn preferred to explore rest of Athena’s toys. Daddy assisted me in cutting out the cookies with varies moulds. But very soon, I began to lose interest too. In the end, it turned out to be a baking session for the daddies. Instead of using the moulds, the daddies preferred to shape the dough with their free hands, resulting in many funny looking cookies in the shape of animals (snake, fish, turtle, pig etc), vehicles (car, airplane, tank, train etc) and other objects (hotdog, snowman, mahjong tiles etc). I think the daddies had more fun than us (the kids)… hehe.
The baking session

The cookies that the daddies made

It took a while for the cookies to be baked but it was worth the wait as the cookies were really delicious. We even brought some back with us… =). It was a pity that we don’t have any oven at home, else Daddy thought that it would be a great idea for us to bake some cookies on our own too.

We left Aunty Mel’s place at around 4.30pm. By then I was super tired and fell asleep shortly after I got into the car. It was yet another great gathering for us.

Thank you Aunty Mel for inviting us over… =)

Dining Back Home
I continued my nap at home and only managed to wake up for a shower and dinner at around 6.45pm. Today, the duty chief was Daddy. And Daddy tried something new – stir fried udon. I ate a lot (almost finished everything that Daddy had prepared). Daddy thought that either the udon was very nice or I was simply too hungry… =P

Second Lesson @ Ros SchoolHouse

Today was the second lesson at Ros Schoolhouse and Mommy decided to try an alternative approach – which was to let me woke up late. She even went to the extend to minimize my activities so that I could reserve my energy and delay my nap until the end of my lesson. However, thing didn’t go along Mommy’s way as I woke up at around 8am and refused to sleep anymore (Mommy hoped that I could at least sleep until 9am). When we left for my lesson, I started to feel tired as soon as I sat in the car seat. In the end, I took a short 20 minutes power nap while we were on our way to Pasir Ris. But I managed to wake up just when we reached Aunty Ros’s place.

Although it was my second lesson, I still didn’t manage to warm up enough for the lesson (I still refused to answer any of Aunty Ros’s questions). I think I will need a few many lessons to get used to the new environment.

There was a special appearance by a rabbit during today’s lesson and all of us were very excited when Aunty Ros brought out the rabbit. We had the chance to hand feed the rabbit. It has a set of soft fur and droopy ears… so cute. It was very first time I got so close to a real rabbit. We even stayed back for awhile to play with him before making our way to Aunty Kelly’s place.

A New Haircut

Mommy was in the mood for having some Malay food for breakfast this morning. And this caused a small headache for Daddy coz he couldn’t think of any Malay stall nearby. Luckily Mommy mentioned about Seah Im Hawker Centre (opposite HarbourFront Center).

I couldn’t have any of the Malay food coz it is too spicy. Instead, I had fishball noodle. I couldn’t self-feed this time coz the table is a bit too high, so I got some extra help from Daddy and Mommy (by holding the bowl at a suitable height for me).

Mommy loves the food so much that she packed back another packet of soto (soup with shredded chicken) for her lunch. While waiting for Mommy, Daddy brought me to walk around the area. I saw some “tiny boxes” moving along a line in the sky. Daddy told me that those “tiny boxes” are cable car cabins and said that he would bring me to ride in one of them next time.

Another Alternative To Saturday’s Schedule
Somehow, I managed to stay awake for the longest duration I have ever tried today (from 8am to 4pm).

I attempted to take a nap after my morning milk at 11am. Mommy was in the bed with me, trying to pat me to sleep. But after 1.5 hours of patting, I was still awake. She gave up and Daddy took over. Once Daddy took over, I changed my mind and told Daddy that I didn’t want to sleep anymore. Finally, I fell asleep after drinking my afternoon milk at 4pm.

This incident offers an alternative arrangement to my Saturday’s schedule. Mommy thought that she can let me wake up at a later timing on Saturday morning and I can take my nap after my enrichment session.

My Personal Hairstylist
My hair really grows at a very slow rate. It takes me 21 months to grow to my current length – my fringe is frequently trimmed whenever it is about to cover my eye but the rest of my hair is untouched. It appears that my fringe grows faster than other part of my hair. Daddy wonders if it is due to the frequent trimming.

My fringe is getting longer again. And my personal hairstylist decided to give it a trimming today. In the process, he decided to give a random snap to the other part of my hair – hoping that they will grow faster (like my fringe).
Still looks the same after the haircut

A New Term Of Enrichment Class

Today marked the commencement of a new term of enrichment class for me. It is a weekly an hour session between 2.30pm to 3.30pm - not the most ideal timing coz I usually take my afternoon nap around 2pm-3pm. Mommy’s solution is to make me take my nap at around 10am-11am so that I can wake up at around 12pm-1pm.

In order to achieve that, Mommy thought of a plan – which is to make me sleep earlier on the night before and then wake me up early and bombard me with activities.

A busy Morning
Last night, Mommy put me to bed at around 9.30pm. And she woke me up at 6.30am this morning while I was still in my dreamland… =(. I didn’t want to wake up but Mommy knew my “weakness” – she asked me whether I would like to do some painting. My eyes lit up with delight when I heard that… =). I had fallen right into her “trap” unknowingly.

Daddy woke up at 7.30am and we prepared to go out for breakfast. We took a bus ride to Chinatown Point coz there is a greater variety to choose from. The bus ride was a short one (lasted only 5 minutes). If only the ride was longer, we could have went up to the upper deck to enjoy a better view.
Waiting for bus-stop for bus

Enjoying my bus ride to Chinatown Point

After much consideration, we finally settled down in Swensen’s (coz Mommy wanted to take a break from Coffee Bean’s breakfast). Mommy brought along a small pack of corn flakes and a flask of cold fresh milk so that I had something to snack with before the breakfast was served. Mommy had the Florida toast set while Daddy had the omelet set. The toast tasted great – especially with the stuffed ham and cheese. I had some of the toast, egg and sausage.
Breakfast @ Swensen’s

Aunty Angelia (Daddy’s colleague) happened to be in the area and dropped by to say hi. And I was introduced to Trinity JieJie (Aunty Angelia’s daughter). Trinity is 10 months older than me. Daddy said that we might end up being schoolmate or even classmate when we attend primary school in the future (since we stay very near to each other and there isn’t many schools around our area to choose from). My stranger anxiety is much better than before as I allowed Aunty Angelia to place me on her lap and I was willingly to shake hands with them.

After biding farewell to Aunty Angelia, we went to China Square for a walk. By the time we arrived back home, it was already 11am and I was really getting tired. After drinking a bottle of milk, I knocked out as per Mommy’s plan.
Having a swinging good time @ the fountain area

My New Enrichment Session
Daddy dragged me out of bed at around 1pm and we set off for my new enrichment session. We had another half an hour to spare when we arrived at Pasir Ris. And we seek refuge in Aunty Kelly’s place. I managed to consume my lunch there. Sharwyn was early too and she came up to look for Gabriel as well. Other than Gabriel and Sharwyn, Quinn and Jeannieve were there for the session too.

It is a flashcard-based program that focuses on memory training. I was the most attentive toddler during the class coz Mommy had been flashing flashcards to me occasionally.
A “lion” that I made during the arts and crafts session

After the class, I hanged around to play with my friends for a short while before Daddy and Mommy rushed off for their lunch.

It's Another Holiday

Today is another public holiday – Hari Raya Haji. And I didn’t need to go to Nanny’s place. It was very rare for me to spend four full days with Daddy and Mommy.

Shopping Trip To Sim Lim Square
We went off to Sim Lim Square for a shopping trip. Mommy wanted to get an external harddisk while Daddy wanted to get some cables. It was a brief trip as Daddy had already done some “homework” before we went over.

We had our lunch at the foodcourt @ Bugis Street. I had some of Daddy’s wan tan mee and Mommy’s macaroni. I managed to self-feed my lunch, allowing Daddy and Mommy to have a peaceful meal. Even the uncle selling mixed veggie rice commented that I was doing it very well… =).
Lunching @ Bugis Street

After filling up our stomach, we went to Bugis Junction for a walk. I stood in front of the water fountain and watched some children playing with the water. They were enjoying themselves very much. Mommy asked me whether I wanted to join them but I said no coz I preferred to watch from the side.

We shopped around for a short while before heading home for my afternoon nap. I even helped Daddy with the shopping bag… =).

Had MacFlurry @ MacDonald

Dining @ Great World City
NaiNai didn’t cook this evening and we had to dine out. So, we went to Great World City coz Daddy wanted to shop for a pair of new shoes there. It was Chinese food for us today as we dined in Crystal Jade. I had some noodle and rice (managed to self-feed myself just like during lunch). I still made little messy on the table but at least the floor was clean… =).

Mommy was so glad to discover that I had finally overcome my “only-one-pair-of-shoes” phase. Before today, I wasn’t willing to try any new shoes and I wasn’t willing to wear any other pair of shoes other than the current pair. I managed to try out a pair of shoes at Seiyu. However, they didn’t have my size. We went to the outlet in Great World City and they didn’t have it as well. In the end, I had to settle for another pair of shoes. This pair of shoes is meant for Chinese New Year and I have to wait for another one month plus before I can wear it… =(.
