Nanny's On Leave

Today was one of those rare weekdays that I didn’t go over to Nanny’s place in the morning coz Nanny had to attend to some personal matters and took a half day leave from Daddy and Mommy.

Both Daddy and Mommy decided not go to work today. We took a slow walk to International Plaza for breakfast @ Coffee Bean as it was the nearest to our place. The place was rather empty and we almost had the whole place for ourselves… hehe.

Breakfast @ Coffee Bean

After breakfast, we went back home and spent the rest of the day lazing at home.

In the late afternoon, Daddy and Mommy sent me over to Nanny’s place after I woke up from my nap as they had something else to attend to. It was rather weird for me to go over to Nanny’s place at such hours.

Visiting 2nd Grand-Uncle

Today was one of the rare Sundays that we had breakfast at home. Daddy woke up early this morning coz all of us slept very early after a tired trip yesterday. He went out to buy breakfast for us. I had my favourite breakfast - red bean paste bun.
Having my favourite breakfast… =)

Session @ GUG
It was an unusual session @ GUG today. Two letters were introduced instead of just one - ‘U’ and ‘V’.

For project, it was one of the most interesting one I had so far. I got a chance to “milk” a “cow”. The “cow” was actually a surgical glove filled with milk. Teacher Yani poked some holes at the tips of the glove. As a result, each time when we pulled and squeezed the finger tips, the milk would come out as if we were really milking a cow. All of us enjoyed it… =).

Visiting 2nd Grand-Uncle
We went over to pay 2nd Grand-Uncle a visit after my lesson. But we made a detour to fetch TaiMa and YiYi @ Tao Payoh. As usual, YiYi was late again (Mommy had been complaining about her elastic timing – can stretch like nobody’s business). I played with 3rd Grand-Uncle’s tortoise while waiting for YiYi to come. I even used my hand to pick up the tortoise. Mommy was so shocked that I was daring enough to do it… =P
Me and 3rd Grand-Uncle’s tortoise

Over at 2nd Grand-Uncle’s place, there wasn’t anything to entertain me with. Luckily ShuYing YiYi played with me.

A Trip To The Zoo

Daddy and Mommy woke me up early in the morning as we were going to the zoo – it was a “date” with Gabriel… =). We arrived there early and had our breakfast at the KFC.
Breakfast @ KFC

During our previous visits, we would try to catch all of the animal shows. But this time round, we went to see the animal feedings instead. And it was really interesting. We saw how the keeper fed the animals and the keeper also gave a detailed commentary about the animals.

Our first stop was the sealion and penguin feeding. The pelican, sealion and penguin were fed together to illustrate their coexistence in their nature habitat. One of the sealions was even chasing the penguins playfully. And the sea lions took turns to show off their tricks.

After the sealion feeding, we went over to see my favourite animal next – the bear. But this bear is covered with white fur – Daddy told me that it is a polar bear. There are two polar bears in the zoo - Sheba (the Mommy) and Inuka (the son). Inuka is a very big bear, even though he is only a “teenager”. The zoo keeper told us that a whole grown polar bear can be 3m in height.
Inuka and how tall he can be…

The Giraffe enclosure was our next stop. The giraffes came very close to us for their breakfast. I could even touch them if I stretched out my hands. But the keeper told us that we couldn’t touch them coz they were still young and we would scare them away if we did so.
See how close the giraffe came to us

We continued with the jaguar and proboscis monkey feeding as well as looking at other animal attractions before making a stop for lunch.

Our lunch was settled in the KFC at the Children Playland. How I wished I could eat some fried chicken but Mommy had prepared some home-cooked noodle for me. I couldn’t wait to finish my lunch coz I saw many other kids having fun in the nearby children playground. I had been bugging Daddy that I wanted to play with the slide since entering into the KFC. Once I was done with my lunch, I dragged Daddy out to the playground with me. The playground was really crowded and I avoided the water play area coz I didn’t have any spare clothing.

We decided to make a second last stop at the Australia Outback before calling it a day since all of us were getting tired. It was our first time here coz this attraction was still under construction during our last visit. In the enclosure, the kangaroos are free to roam around. There was even a kangaroo that hopped across our path. Daddy felt that this attraction would be more complete if there is kola bear too (actually there is one there - ME... hehe).
Hop hop kangaroos

We got a photo with a fake kangaroo since we can’t do it with a real one

Our final stop was the elephant ride. Daddy didn’t let me have a ride coz he knew that I would probably start to drop tears when the elephant began to move. In the end, I watched Gabriel and Uncle Ben riding the elephant from the side. Gabriel looked like he was really having fun on the elephant… hehe.
Gabriel waiting for elephant ride

We left the zoo at around and headed towards Tampines. I fell asleep immediately when I got into my car seat and remained asleep for the whole journey. I continued my nap at GongGong’s place until it was time to go home.

Daddy thought that it was a meaningful trip to the zoo as I am able to distinguish and recognize the various types of animals that we encountered in the morning visit. It is definitely much better than reading about the animals in a book or watching them from the TV.

It's NaiNai's Birthday

Today is NaiNai’s birthday. Mommy asked me to pass her a red packet early in the morning and wished her “生日快乐”. But I only manage to complete the first half of the mission.

In the evening, Daddy came over to pick me up much earlier than usual coz we would be bringing NaiNai out for a dinner (with GuGu’s family). Our destination was Kia Hiang Restaurant @ Kim Tian Road. We ordered their signature dishes (claypot spring chicken and Gui Fei b
eancurd), sweet and sour pork, stir-fried veggie, steamed Garoupa fillet and oh-nee as dessert.

Since I already had my dinner much earlier on at Nanny’s place, I just sat in the high chair and snacked on some fish slices. I had a few mouthfuls of the oh-nee too but it was so sweet.

After dinner, we went over to HarbourFront coz NaiNai wanted to buy a DVD player to replace the one in the living room. While they were shopping around, I began to wonder off on my own. I wasn’t really afraid coz I knew that Daddy was secretly following behind me… hehe.

I Love To Draw... =)

I like to draw and paint very much. I have been drawing on A4 size paper, mahjong paper, whiteboard, Doodle pad and even the “wall” of my “house”. So far, I have not drawn anything that resembles anything at all.

This evening, I finally drew something that resembled something. It was a banana with a smiling face on it. Mommy was so happy that she took a picture of it… =)

Visiting Aunty Cindy

My new dress

It had been a long time since I last wore a dress. I prefer wearing two-piece clothing instead of a dress. Each time Daddy/Mommy attempts to put a dress on for me, I will fight hard to remove it. Today, I didn’t fight hard enough and let Daddy “conned” me into wearing this dress.

Session @ GUG
Today’s letter of the day was ‘T’ and the animal of the day was tiger. I like tiger too and my favourite tiger’s name is Tigger… =). We were introduced to other items which begin with the letter ‘T’ – toothpaste, tooth, toothbrush and tambourine. For arts and crafts, I did pattern printing with tomato.

Visiting Aunty Cindy
Aunty Cindy is going back to Japan and will not be coming back to Singapore for a very long time. Mommy wanted to drop by at her place before she leaves for Japan. We went over to her place after my lesson today.

Aya and Ami JieJie were around but they were studying for their exams – so Daddy didn’t allow me to disturb them. I was in my usual self – refused to roam around and clung on to Daddy. It took Daddy a while to warm me up to the new place by playing hide-and-seek with me and my mini pooh bear. After a few rounds, I felt more comfortable and started to roam round the whole place.

Playing hide-and-seek with BearBear and Daddy

Before we bide Aunty Cindy good bye, she told us that we can go over to visit her in Tokyo if we go over. But I think it will not happen in the near future.

Stay Home Saturday

I was down with fever again since yesterday due to some unknown reasons… =(. Mommy and I were supposed to attend church wedding with Daddy. In the end, Mommy stayed behind to look after me while Daddy went alone.

Fortunately, I had a company - Aidan came over as GuGu needed to attend to something while GuZhang needed to work. He cried for a while when GuGu left. It only took him a couple of minutes to calm down and he was happily playing with the kitchen set. If I am in his shoe, I think I will cry until the whole place collapses or when Mommy comes back for me… =P.

I noticed that guys enjoy playing with kitchen set as well. Aidan was having fun with the kitchen set too (Gabriel likes it too). But the only problem was that his attention span was rather short – he moved on to other toys while I could still spend the next half an hour or so hanging around the kitchen set.
Great chef @ work

Watching Blue’s Clues

Lunchtime was a nightmare for NaiNai. The initial plan was for NaiNai to feed me while Mommy fed Aidan. I didn’t like the idea and insisted on Mommy to feed me. In the end, NaiNai had a hard time feeding Aidan. She was so relieved that GuGu was back shortly.

In the afternoon, I took a long nap of three hours plus. By the time I woke up, Daddy was already back.

Visiting Keith

Back To Tampines
We went back to Tampines to visit GongGong in the morning. We left rather early so that we could spend more time there.

YiYi bought me some presents from Malaysia – this was a red stuffed dog named Patrick and some Blue’s Clues VCD… =). Mommy had told her that I love Blue’s Clues very much.
My new friend – Patrick the dog

As usual, I fell asleep after drinking my morning milk and woke up for lunch before we set off to Punggol to visit Aunty Sharon and Baby Shaynnen.

Visiting Aunty Sharon and Shaynnen
Gabriel’s family was there too. This was the first time we visited Baby Shaynnen since she came home. But she was taking her nap when we arrived.

I hanged around in the living room to play with Sharwyn and Gabriel. I discovered that Gabriel also enjoys playing with kitchen set too… =). We didn’t hang around for too long as we had another place to visit – Keith’s place.

Visiting Keith and SuSuang ShenShen
We decided to drop by Keith’s places as we were in the area. Keith and SuSuang ShenShen were at home today while Uncle Justin had to work.

While at Keith’s place, Keith taught me how to play with guns – he would point his gun at me and shout “bang bang”. I didn’t know how to react as gal doesn’t play with guns. He also shared his other toys with me. In return, I treated him with my animal biscuits. He didn’t want them at first. But he came back for more when he realized that the name of the animals is printed on each of the animal-shaped biscuit. Each time he would take one from my container and run to ShenShen to ask her what animal was he holding on to. Then he would repeat after ShenShen and happily placed the biscuit into his mouth. He repeated until we finished all the biscuits. I would definitely bring more when I go over next time… =).

I am two... =)

I am two today… =)

Daddy and Mommy didn’t go to work and I didn’t go to Nanny’s place as well today coz they wanted to spend a day with me. Mommy bought me a small cake (with 2 big candles). I didn’t manage to blow off the candle on last Sunday so Mommy wanted me to have another try. However, this time, the flame was so big that it looked scary to me. In the end, I still didn’t manage to blow if off.
Mommy told me to wait for a SURPRISE

My second birthday cake… =)

After breakfast at the hawker center, we made our way to the Jurong Bird Park Daddy made a few wrong turns along the way but still managed to arrive in time for the bird show.
Having a birthday cake and macaroni

I’m at the Jurong Bird Park

The first bird show was the Bird of Prey show showcasing eagles, hawks and vultures. All the birds are flying so low and near to us and they are looked very huge when they are so near to us – it is really scary. The birds also show off their hunting skills during the show. It was really an eye opener.
Stars in the Bird Of Prey show

Since there was still time before the second bird show start, we went around to check out the rest of the park. We managed to see many different types of birds – flamingo, crane, ostrich, eagle, hawk, owl, peacock, parrot, penguin and many more. I didn’t know there are so many types of birds around. To me, they are all birds… =P.

The second bird show we watched was the Birds and Buddies show. This show wasn’t as interesting as the first one. The main stars in this show are the parrots. One of the parrots could even count 1~10 in both English and Chinese (while I am struggling to count 1~10 in English). And he can sing in Chinese, Malay and English. She even sang me a birthday song – how did he know that it was my birthday today?

The parrot who sang “Happy Birthday” to me… =)

It’s so warm…

I only warmed up after the second bird show and willing to get my feet on the ground. But by then, I was feeling tired coz it would be my nap time soon, Daddy was feeling tired coz he had been carrying me around for most part of the journey and Mommy was feeling tired due to the walking. It was a good idea to come to the bird park coz it was much smaller in size (compared to the zoo). Sensing that I probably couldn’t last much longer without my nap, Mommy decided to make a last stop @ the penguin enclosure before making our way to Jurong Point for lunch.

A lizard blocking our way… so scary

I had my milk on the car and I almost fall asleep. But I was widely waken when Mommy asked me whether I would like to eat ice-cream – I answered with a big YES… =)

Lunching @ Swensen’s
We went Swensen for lunch (@ Jurong Point) coz they gave complimentary Firehouse if your birthday falls on that day… =).

Mommy said that I am a big gal now and ordered a separate kid’s meal for me – it was a ham and cheese omelet set. But I was more interesting in Daddy’s grilled fish set instead… hehe.
My lunch

Finally, the Firehouse was served after I finished my main course. They even placed a candle in the middle of it and played the “Happy Birthday” song. And finally I managed to blow out the candle on my own on this third attempt… hehe. I almost managed to finish the strawberry ice cream on my own while Mommy and Daddy helped me to finish and vanilla and the chocolate ones.
Me and the Firehouse… =)

After the lunch, we headed straight for home and I felt asleep as soon as I sat on the car seat and napped for a long 3 hours plus.
