Car Washing Session

Back to Uncle Donald’s place for breakfast

Morning @ United Square
It was back to Uncle Donald’s place for breakfast this morning. Mommy was really getting tired of having MacDonald’s breakfast almost every Sunday morning and she was seriously thinking of changing the breakfast venue.

Mommy attended the whole session with me – giving Daddy a break. After the lesson, we went shopping for my shoe again. But I was still not in the mood to try any shoe. When they attempted, I tried wriggling out of Daddy’s grasp, screaming at the top of my voice and making a scene at the shop. Daddy and Mommy had no choice but to drop the idea once again. And we went home straight as it was pouring heavily outside.

Smile…

Car Wash
Since the arrival of the car, Daddy and Mommy had another chore to add to their never-ending list. NaiNai wasn’t at home to babysit me this afternoon, so Daddy and Mommy brought me down to help out in the car washing. I had a great time walking around the car to supervise the washing. And I even offered to carry the pail of water for Daddy but Daddy said that it was too heavy for me.

Daddy Will Be Away
Daddy will be away for the next five days as the nation requires his service again.

Dinner With God-Grandma

Visiting GongGong @ Tampines
It had been a very long time since we last visited GongGong. And it was a nice surprise to see that YiYi had bought me something again – a stuffed hamster (some Japanese anime character) and a drawing pad. I will not be so bored when I come over as I have more and more toys over here as well.

Can’t wait to try out the drawing pad

GongGong was pretty excited over the car as well and he took Daddy for a spin, leaving me behind with Mommy. We didn’t hang around for too long as we needed to go pick up God-Grandma for dinner later.

Dining With God-Grandma
God-Grandma’s birthday is coming soon (1 August). Daddy decided to bring her out for a dinner (together with NaiNai). And since she prefers oriental dishes, we ended up dining at Crystal Jade (@ Great World City).

It was an early dinner. Somehow, I was so tired that I fell asleep in the car. By the time we arrived @ Great World City, I was already in dreamlands. Although Daddy forgot to make a reservation, we still manage to secure a table without much waiting. And the aunty @ the restaurant was very nice – she gave us the cushion seat so that I could take my nap there while the adults could have a peaceful meal. We had stir-fried hor fun, plain porridge, hokkien tou fu, stewed chicken, braised pig trotter and some veggie.
Having a peaceful nap on the seat

I woke just in time for the dinner – had some of the porridge plus tou fu, fish and veggie. I didn’t eat much so Daddy bought some bread for me just in case I wanted to eat something later.

Shopping For A Pair Of New Shoes

Daddy and Mommy had been looking around for a new pair of shoe for me coz I am outgrowing my current pair. But I am in the “I-don’t-want-to-buy-new-shoes” phase. I don’t want to try on any shoes and will kick, fuss and cry loudly whenever they attempted to put on any new shoes for me. After some fussing, Daddy and Mommy gave up the idea for today and we went home.

A New Member In The Family

Daddy was on leave today coz he needed to settle some admin. He briefly mentioned about bringing someone/something back.

I only got to know that that someone/something is a car when Daddy and Mommy came over to fetch me. Daddy and Mommy had been talking about buying a car so that it will be easier for them to ferry me around when I start going to childcare come this December. And they finally got it done today.

It is a three years old Toyota IST - a small 1299cc car which is just nice for us now. NaiNai should be able to squeeze in with me in the back seat (even with a car seat fitted in) - who know if they will be changing to another bigger car in time to come?

Visiting TaiMa @ Toa Payoh

Session @ GUG
We were back to GUG for lesson this morning and today’s letter was “C” (which is my favorite letter coz my favorite animal begins with the letter “C” – Cat). And Mommy attended most part of the lesson with me instead of Daddy.

I was introduced to many objects that begin with the letter “C” – cat, car and caterpillar. I even got my face painted like a cat but Daddy mentioned that I looked more like a “mouse” than a “”. I also got a car “tattooed” on my hand and a caterpillar painted on my finger.
“Meow… meow… meow… “

Visiting TaiMa @ Toa Payoh
Mommy decided to pay TaiMa a visit after my GUG session. And I got to see that golden retriever again. He has grown so fast and he is bigger than me now.

I was more friendly and at ease today (compared to last visit where I needed a long time to settle down). I spent most of my time walking around and exploring the flat. Mommy decided to stay for lunch while I took my nap there.

When I woke up, I saw that Fifth Granduncle (with YinXuan YiYi) was there to visit TaiMa too. And I played with her for a while before Mommy and Daddy called it a day.

GongGong's Da Shuo

GUG Session
As usual, we had our breakfast @ Uncle Donald’s place before the session. Mommy was getting bored with that and she might be looking for a new breakfast venue soon.

Today, Daddy started off the session with me. Everything was fine until I spotted Mommy’s head through the small glass panel on the door and started screaming for Mommy. Mommy had no choice but to come in and take over.

In today’s session, each of us was required to go in front of the class to remove our nametags from the whiteboard. When it was my turn, I refused to move forward even though Mommy gave me a lot of encouragements (and pushes). In the end, I didn’t remove my nametag off the whiteboard but I did manage to point to the tag bearing my name on it (coz Mommy had been rehearsing for it @ home… =P).

Today’s art and crafts session was very interesting - making an aquarium (with blue colour water, some tiny piece of shiny papers, some green plant and anchovies and a plastic bag). But I broke my aquarium while I was holding on it outside after the lesson. Daddy even had to do some extra work in drying up the floor.

As Mommy wasn't feeling too well, Daddy took over for the last 30 minutes of the session. And we went straight home after that.

GongGong 六十大寿 Dinner
GongGong will turn 60 year old tomorrow and Mommy decided to arrange for a simple dinner with him (together with Grand Aunties (大姑婆,二姑婆) and Grand Uncles (三叔公,小叔公) families).

The dinner was held at the Long Beach Restaurant @ East Coast and we occupied two tables in total. Daddy and Mommy ordered a lot of food – there were prawns, chilli crabs, special in-house tou fu, BBQ fish and many more. But I only got to taste the special in-house tou fu, fish, some veggie and fried man tou… =(. The dessert was Mommy’s favourite oh-nee (yam paste with gingko nuts). It was too sweet but I did have some gingko nuts though.

Picnic @ Pasir Ris Green

It had been a long time since we had some program on a Saturday. Daddy pulled me out of my sleep early in the morning at 8.30am. But I didn’t mind coz we would be meeting some of my friends @ Pasir Ris Green for a picnic and horse watching session… =)

Horse Watching @ Gallop Stable
We didn’t see any familiar faces around after we alighted from the taxi @ the designated meeting point and thought that we were the first to arrive. Since we were early, Daddy decided to check out the Gallop Stable before the picnic.
Having a morning stroll to the Gallop Stable

The stable is just a short one minute walk from the car park. And Athena’s family was already there. The stable isn’t really very big (took us only 5 minutes to see everything) and we can see 7~8 horses/ponies around. All the horses in the stable have names and I like Jasmine most (maybe coz she is white).
Taking photos with Jasmine

Jack (the horse) trying to be friendly

One by one, the rest of the gang arrived - Samantha, Gabriel and Kieran.

The Picnic
We managed to secure a nice shady spot under some trees. Each of us brought some food – there were sandwiches, muffins, spring rolls, prata rolls (with cheese and sausages), sausages, cheese cubes, fruits and swiss rolls. The cheese cubes that Aunty Cynthia brought were so yummy that I popped a few into my mouth… =)

The picnic and my friends

Sharwyn was pretty late today (she only arrived while we were halfway through the picnic). I had lots of fun - we had horse riding, kite flying and watching “Hi-5” DVD. Yes! We were watching “Hi-5” DVD in the great outdoors… hehe (all thanks to Sharwyn’s portable DVD player). But after a while, only Athena and I left watching it… =P

Watching Hi-5

Horse Riding
The Gallop Stable offers horse riding session (half round on the track costs $5 while a full round on the track costs $10).

Samantha was the first to try and she looked like having a great time. Daddy wanted to let me have a try and bought me a half round ticket. Daddy should know that I dislike sitting/riding/standing on an object that moves. First sign of warning came when I refused to wear the safety helmet. Then when I got onto the horse, I started crying. The horse handler got the horse to move a few steps to calm my nerves. Unfortunately, my crying got louder when the horse moved off. In the end, Daddy and Mommy decided to get me off the horse. The ticket didn’t go to waste as it was passed to one of my friends.

Daddy commented that I should go through some training on the merry-go-round before the next attempt.

Kite Flying
Uncle Ben bought a kite and Daddy decided to show me a trick or two in flying a kite. But I didn’t have much fun though (Daddy definitely had more fun than me). It was so sunny out in the field. After a short while, I got tired of watching Daddy and decided to join Mommy in the shade instead.

Mini kite flying session

After Daddy got tired of trying, Uncle Ben and Uncle Frankie had an attempt too. Gabriel and I decided to watch from a shady spot.

What a nice view from here…

Visiting Aunty Christina and Baby Christian
After the picnic, Uncle Eric gave us a lift to Compass Point to have lunch before we made our way to Aunty Christina's place. Baby Christian is already 6 weeks old and Mommy finally squeezed out some time to pay him a visit.

At Aunty Christina’s place, I kept myself busy by walking around the whole house. Baby Christian was lying in a playpen in the living room and I went around the playpen trying to catch a glimpse of Christian from all possible angles. Aunty Christina even prepared some yummy pastries for us to eat (some swiss rolls and éclairs). Daddy and Mommy were very surprised to see that I didn’t show any sign of tiredness.

Me and Baby Christian

While Baby Christian was taking a nap, Mommy decided that it was time to leave as it was getting late and Aunty Christina needed to rest. It was then that I started to feel tired and eventually felt asleep (on Mommy’s shoulder) halfway through the train ride home.

Breaking Two Personal Records
Today I broke two of my personal records - longest period without a nap: 7.5 hours (from 8.30am ~ 4.00pm) and longest period without a milk feed: 12.5 hours (5.30am ~ 6.00pm).

Mommy thought that it was most probably due to the high sugar content stuffs that I had been stuffing into my mouth since this morning.

Just Another Sunday

Another day of mourning as England got kicked out of World Cup 2006 (while Daddy hadn’t recovered from yesterday’s mourning).

Teaching Daddy A Lesson
Daddy sneaked out to catch the match between England and Portugal without telling me. To “punish” him for that, I woke up at 3.30am for milk and didn’t go back to sleep after that. Daddy was so surprised to see me wide awake when he came back at 4am. And I made him pat and sing to me before I finally felt asleep again at around 5am.

Due to the incident early this morning, Daddy and I overslept (we ended up waking up at 8.30am instead of 8am). Fortunately Mommy had got most of the stuff ready. Daddy and I had a quick wash up and left for lesson at around 9am. Luckily I still managed to catch a quick bite (of hotcake) before I was ushered to the lesson by Daddy.

Having a quick bite @ Uncle Donald’s place

Session @ GUG
At lesson, the teachers talked about traffic lights – something that I get to see everyday. I was told that we must obey the traffic lights – red light means stop and green light means go. I even made my own traffic light out of a rectangular biscuit, peanut butter and m&m chocolates. The best part of the session was that we got to eat our “traffic light” but I only got to eat the peanut butter-covered biscuit (less the chocolate). Chocolate is still a forbidden item on my food list.

Today’s letter was ‘Z’. Zebra is an animal with black and white stripes, it begins with the letter ‘Z’ and it lives in a place called zoo. And I was able to pick up a zebra from some animals in the basket.
Saying “Bye Bye” to Garfield after we left United Square

Lunching @ Bras Basah
Sensing that I should be able to last a while longer before I required my nap, Mommy wanted to go to Jack’s Place for lunch and Daddy suggested the one located @ Bras Basah Complex.

Everything looked so yummy… don’t know what to order???

The manager uncle there was very nice and friendly. He spent some time explaining the differences between the different types of steak to Mommy. Even turned down the air-con for us when Mommy commented that it was too cold. And he gave me a piece of toast to eat (how did he know that I like toast?)

Still like my toast

I had a great meal – my first time tasting steak/beef and I loved it. I liked it so much that I kept on asking Mommy for more (didn’t want the fish that Daddy was having).

After a hearty meal, we went to this bookshop that sells a lot of Chinese books (@ Level 3). I was roaming around the place while Mommy looked around. In the end, Daddy got me a Chinese book (小猫咪咪在哪里?) about a small girl who was looking for her cat.

Better check to make sure that the book is inside

Feeling tired, we took a bus home. It was 2pm when we reached home. I had my milk and knocked out immediately. Daddy and Mommy also knocked with me for two solid hours. We spent the rest of the Sunday lazing around @ home again.
