First Session @ GUG

After taking a long break from my last structured lesson (Kindermusik), I would begin my lesson @ Growing Up Gifted (GUG) today (2pm). I was very cooperative – I took my nap @ the scheduled time (11am) and woke up on time for my lunch and the lesson.

First Lesson @ GUG
Mommy attended the lesson with me coz only one parent is allowed per child. The lesson (@ GUG) is very different from Kindermusik’s. We have phonics session, arts and craft, songs and actions. Letter of the day was ‘Q’. I was introduced to an animal that began with the letter ‘Q’ – quail.

After the lesson, we went shopping in the mall. And finally I had my first taste of the famous Ben and Jerry ice-cream (Chunky Monkey). While walking around, Mommy noticed that Guess was having sales and she bought me a nice denim skirt and sleeveless top.

Finally… yummy Chunky Monkey

Walking around @ United Square

As it was still early, we went over to Novena Square to look for a place to have dinner (coz NaiNai was away for a birthday party @ Marina Square). We went around the mall for a few times and couldn’t find any outlet – so we decided to head to somewhere else for dinner.

Dinner @ Tiong Bahru Plaza
In the end, we ended up dining @ Tiong Bahru Plaza instead. Daddy shared his mixed veg rice (steamed egg and cai xin) and Mommy shared her yong tou fu with me for dinner.

Walking pass a toy fair @ Level 1, a $7.50 radio control car caught Daddy’s attention. After some inspection, he purchased the car for me (I think more for himself… hehe). I had a new toy car… =)

Stay Home Saturday

This morning, I woke up and found Daddy nowhere in sight (usually he will be still in bed or coming running to me when I wake up). Later, Mommy told me Daddy went to take his IPPT.

Daddy did come back later in the morning. We didn’t have any program today and didn’t go out coz my 2 cousins (Aidan and Keith KorKor) would be coming over in the afternoon to play (this didn’t count as program).

It’s play-doh time…

And colouring time

NaiNai commented that I “might” have “inherited” Daddy’s character (coz he used to love to lie on his belly to do his homework last time) – just like what I did… =P

Visitors in The Afternoon
I waited patiently for my cousins’ arrival and finally Keith was the first to arrive @ 3pm. Daddy took out some of my toys for us to play with while waiting for Aidan’s arrival. Mommy said that I was a petty gal coz I didn’t like Keith touching any of my toys – I would fuss and “complain” (until tears came rolling off my eyes). Neither did I like Keith reading my books – I would ask Mommy to get me the book that Keith was reading.

Putting up a sad face when Keith touched my toys

Aidan arrived rather late (after his “beauty” sleep). Aidan dug up the rest of my toys from the storage bin made a big mess in the room. We continued to play with the toys until Daddy commented that it was time for us to go to the void deck @ the third level (coz we would have more room to run around) and there is a playground there as well.

Although the playground has been around for 1-2 years plus, today was the first time I actually played there. We took turns to go down the slides. And all three of us loved it very much… =)
Aidan and Keith on the slide
My turn…

I love the slide… =)

An important discovery was made today - Daddy and Mommy discovered that I could climb up the ladder all by myself (with 2 hands holding on to the side of coz). They felt that it was a commendable achievement for me… hehe.

Attempting the climb on my own

Finally… I made it =)

Aidan and Keith attempting the climb too

Aidan brought his bubble gun along and he was making a lot of bubbles. Keith and I were busy going around, trying to catch them… it was fun!!! Three of us had a lot of fun – screaming and running around… =P

Bubbles, bubbles everywhere

Running around catching the bubbles

The playground was rather dirty. At the end of the session, our clothes were all dirtied and we were sweaty and sticky. We went upstairs and took turns to shower. After the shower, we were back in the room playing with the toys. The boys played with each other while I preferred to watch them by the side.

Dinner was a noisy affair with the two guys running around when being fed, TV making noise in the background and 7 other adults in a tiny 3-room flat.

It was a tiring day for all…

My New Collections

Mommy knows that I love books – especially the Mandarin “我会读”(I Can Read) series. She ordered the rest of the series from the Internet and they arrived this afternoon. Now I have the complete series. But Mommy said got to wait till I am older before I can read the books.

Visit to Singapore Science Center

A Visit to The Singapore Science Center
So exciting – I had a date with some of my friends today. We went to the Singapore Science Center (SSC). Although I needed to wake up early but I am not complaining… =).

In fact, Daddy and Mommy left much earlier so that we could have breakfast @ Uncle Donald’s restaurant. We almost got a shock when we reached the science center coz there are constructions going on there and Daddy and Mommy thought that the whole centre is under renovation. They breathed a sign of relief when they discovered that only the exterior is under construction and the center is still open for business… =).

We were the first to arrive. I had hot cake (with maple sauce), scrambled egg and muffin for breakfast while waiting for the rest to arrive. Actually, I wanted to have some hashbrown but Mommy refused to bring me any =(.

Breakfast @ Uncle Donald’s place

After awhile, my friends arrived 1 by 1 – Gabriel, Jeannieve, Justin, Quinn, Rhyan, RuiYing, Shanice, Sharwyn and YingXin.

Some of my friends present

The Outdoors Exhibits
We started with some outdoors activities first before the weather got too hot and sunny. Our first stop was the Waterworks (recommended by Aunty Chirs). The Waterworks is an outside water themed area with exhibits that teaches us the importance of water (which is too advanced for my understanding… =P). Basically, I was there to have fun with the water and get drenched… hehe.

My friends having fun and getting drenched

Warming up session for me

My favourite feature was the Water Maze. It is a maze with jets of water forming a water “wall”. The layout of the maze changes from time to time and it was really a challenge to navigate through it without getting wet (near impossible). Daddy and I “challenged” the Water Maze and the result – a drenched daughter and father… hehe.

The Water Maze challenge – FAILED!!!

Another scarier feature is the Water Clock tower. You better keep an eye on the 2 BIG buckets up on the tower. The buckets will topple and water will come pouring down when they are full. I thought it would be very painful when the water poured onto us but it seemed that a big KorKor enjoyed that very much. I had a lot of fun getting wet with Daddy… =).

The Indoors Exhibits
As the sun got hotter, we decided to dry myself, changed and get indoors. We took a quick look at the rest of the exhibits but they are too advanced for me to understand.

Other exhibits

Daddy introduced me to this very famous uncle – Uncle Albert Einstein. He said that Uncle Einstein is a great scientist (if not the greatest). You either LOVE him or HATE him – love him for his great scientific findings and discovery or hate him for the science subjects that we have to study… =P.

Me and Uncle Einstein (with Mommy)

Anyway, I was only attracted to a small area with small animal exhibits (gerbil, fishes, hamster etc). The ceiling of the area is so low that Daddy and Mommy had problem coming in.

Checking out the small animal exhibits

There is a TV studio like room. Gabriel and I became newscasters for a moment and guess what – they were on TV… hehe.

New newscasters reporting @ work
Hey… *wave* *wave* I am on TV =P

Lunching in Chinatown
We went off with Aunty Kelly to have lunch @ Chinatown. I fell asleep immediately from the moment we left the science center. And I slept through the ride to Chinatown and the lunch as well (no wonder Daddy and Mommy were so smiley when I woke up – I bet they had a very peaceful lunch). And they didn’t even leave anything for me to eat… =(.

Thank you Aunty Kelly for lending Gabriel’s pram to me for the nap… =)

We did have a short walk around the Chinatown Complex before Uncle Ben sent us home. It was already 4pm when we reached home.

Home Sweet Home
For the rest of the day, we just lazed around @ home coz we were too exhausted to go anywhere after 2 days of activities. Daddy prepared sweet potato-based pasta again for my dinner (coz he knows that I LOVE sweet potato). I ate a BIG portion of it coz I didn’t ate much for lunch.
Lazing on sofa while eating waffle… hehe

And finally NaiNai came back from her KL trip and Daddy and Mommy had some peace while having their dinner.
