My Birthday Party

The Preparation
When I woke up in the morning, I thought I was somewhere else coz the living room looked very different (Daddy had been setting up decorations for my birthday party in the evening). He pasted a huge picture (3 X 3 A4 size paper) of me on one of the wall together with the wording "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" and "ESTHER". Then he tied two colour tapes from each corner of the ceiling to the ceiling light. Lastly, he put up some flags along the central pillar in the middle of the living room. The decorations are rather simple. =)


NaiNai was very KS and she gave me a very very BIG ang bao early in the morning. Daddy and Mommy had been very busy the whole morning – sweeping, mopping, shifting furniture around and taking turns to keep an eye on me. They pushed all of the furniture to the wall and created a empty space in the centre so that the guests would have more space to move about. I was very guai as I entertained myself with books and toys most of the time.

The Menu
NaiNai prepared most of the food and she had been preparing them since early morning. The menu is as followed:
1) Curry Chicken
2) Pork Ribs in Bean Paste
3) Mixed Veg (cabbage and carrot)
4) Sweet and Sour Fish (without the sweet & sour sauce coz NaiNai forget to buy pineapple) 5) Breaded Prawn
6) Cereal Sotong (prepared by Daddy but poorly done)
7) Assorted Sushi (buy one of coz)
8) Fried Egg Tofu with Minced Pork
9) Popian Veg (prepared God-Grandmum)
10) Dessert: Ice Jelly with Sea Coconut
11) Drink: Home-cooked Barley Water


The Party
Daddy sneaked off to collect my birthday cake @ around 5.45pm and soon after my guests started to arrive (I had 16 guests altogether). Mommy changed me into my birthday dress.


As usual, I ate my dinner before everybody else. Most of the guests arrived by 7pm. By then, I had finished my dinner and was crawling around to playing with my two KorKors. I was in a very cheerful mood – crawling around and smiling to my guests. Many of them said that I was very happy that day – of coz, it is my birthday party after all. =P


Everybody gathered around me @ around 8.15pm and sung "Happy Birthday" song to me. My birthday cake is from Haagen-Dazs (1.5kg cookie and cream ice-cream cake with a mini zoo on the top). But I wasn't in the best mood coz I was pissed off by someone just before the cake cutting. In the end, Daddy and Mommy were not able to get any nice picture of me. I took some pictures with the guests and Daddy said got to cut the cake soon coz the cake was melting away. I had a few bites of the cake (it is very yummy) but Mommy refused to give me more. =(

The guests started to leave @ around 9.30pm and Daddy and Mommy thought that I wanted to sleep soon (my usual bedtime is 9pm) and they started to give me a wash and prepare my last feed. But I was still awake after my last milk feed. =P

Mommy stayed inside the room and tried to "con" me to sleep while Daddy helped out NaiNai to clear up the mess.

End Notes
It was 11pm liao (way way passed my bedtime) and I was still active and show no sign of sleepiness. Even Mommy was more tired than me (Mommy usually sleeps early). In the end, Mommy decided to help me opened up the present that I had received (tell u a secret – actually Mommy was more excited than me when she was unwrapping my present)... hehe.

I received a lot of pretty cloth and a "car". Daddy commented that they don't need to shop for my clothes for quite some time. Finally, I fell asleep some time after that......ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.
