A Morning @ Kranji Countryside

It was a sunny morning – a prefect morning to spend some time @ Kranji Countryside
with some of my friends (Gabriel, Sharwyn, Jeannieve and Rhyan). Daddy went out early in the morning to buy some baos and pastries so that we could have our breakfast in the car during the journey to Lim Chu Kang.

1) Hay Dairies Goat Farm
Our first stop was Hay Dairies Goat Farm and we were the first to reach there. Daddy brought me to the viewing area to see the milking process of the goats while waiting for the rest of my friends to arrive (who came shortly after that). There was an uncle explaining the whole milking process to us and telling us more about the goats.

After the milking session, we went to take a closer look at the goats. Uncle Eric even bought some packets of hay for us to feed the goats. I managed to go very near to them but I didn’t dare to feed them. I preferred to see Daddy fed them while maintaining my distance.

Going rounds and rounds with my friends… hehe

2) Jurong Frog Farm

Next stop – the frog farm

Next stop, we made a stop at the frog farm. Over there, there are many concrete enclosures with a lot and a lot of frogs inside. Actually, it looks kind of scary to see so many frogs there. Mommy never likes frog and decided not to go in with us. It isn’t many things to see over there (other than lots of frogs) and we left briefly for the next farm.

3) Fire Flies Health Farm
After the frog farm, we dropped by the Fire Flies Health Farm next. Mommy thought that it was a firefly farm from the name but it turned out to be an organic veggie farm. There are many plots of area inside and we couldn’t really see much thing there. The only thing we managed to see was here big bittergound.

A big bittergound – Daddy’s favourite … hehe

It was getting warm and we decided to join Mommy in the in-house store. Rest of my friends also decided to come inside the shade for a water (and biscuits) break.

4) Bollywood Veggies
Next stop was our lunch stop @ the Bollywood Veggies. There is an eatery inside called the Poison Ivy.

Feeling sleepy after the lunch

After lunch, we gave the farm tour a miss coz we had seemed enough greens for today. Instead, we had a mini workout with some netballs in an open area beside the Poison Ivy.

5) Hausmann Aquarium
Our final stop was Hausmann Aquarium. The first thing that attracted my attention was this fish catching area (where there were many kids catching fish). The fish were bought over the counter and released into the area so that they could catch them again.

The other area that I liked is the Koi pond - I like Koi… =). I spent a long time there looking at them.

After that, we finally said farewell to my friends and headed home.

I Have Recovered... =)

I almost couldn’t make it to the lesson today coz Daddy was very sick last night. He caught the virus from me – his fever came and went for a few days too and his temperature hit 39.4 degree last night. Fortunately, he had a good rest last night. By the time he woke up this morning, his fever was finally gone for good.

Lesson @ Aunty Ros’s
It seemed like a lot of people were getting sick recently - Aidan was sick too (running nose and coughing) and didn’t come for lesson today.

During lesson, Aunty Ros showed us a polygon with 4 equal sides – square. I even made a square with ice cream sticks (with Mommy’s help).

For arts and crafts, I made a photo frame with ice cream sticks. I did most part of the work (with Mommy helping out with the pasting of the double sided tape) and I put on the decorations all by myself.

Shopping Trip @ Marina
Daddy and Mommy decided to do some shopping today. We went to Bugis Junction but Daddy couldn’t find any parking lot coz Bugis was super packed with people as Y.E.S 93.3 was organizing some activities there. In the end, we left for Marina Square. We hadn’t visited it since it completed its renovation.

Mommy started to complain about feeling hungry and we went to catch a bite before we continued with the shopping. We ended in Han’s for a break. While Daddy was ordering, I went to and fro between our seat and him just to check on Daddy and made sure that he had the correct order. I had bites of Mommy’s egg mayo toast and bites of Daddy’s hamburger with a glass of ice milo… =).

Enjoying my ice milo… =)

We continued with our shopping once we got our stomach filled. Although there are many shops around, Daddy still couldn’t find what he wanted and we wondered to Suntec City instead. I went to the Koi garden to take a look – I like Koi fish very much. After that, we went to pick up Mommy’s favourite yoghurt – Yummy Yoghurt.

I like yoghurt too… hehe

We ended the day with dinner at Marina Square before heading home.

A Long Fever Episode

I hadn’t been feeling too well since the beginning of this week.

Monday (30/04/2007)
I woke up in the morning feeling slightly feverish, Mommy took my temperature and it was above the 38°c mark. Mommy decided to take a day off work and spent a day with me.

Other than the high temperature, I looked perfectly alright. I was still very active and could even run around in the supermarket when she brought me downstairs to shop for some grocery.

Tuesday (01/05/2007)
Today is a public holiday – Labour Day. I hadn’t recovered from the fever yet. My temperature dropped after taking paracetamol but it would increase again after few hours. Daddy and Mommy decided to spend the day at home since I was still unwell. Daddy even bought back hotcakes for me.

Having hotcakes for breakfast

Other than the fever and running nose, I was still active and seem perfectly alright. Around noon, my temperature crossed the 39°C mark. As I was already on 4 hourly paracetamol and it wasn’t time to take the medicine yet, Daddy had no other choice but to administer a dose of suppository. I felt very awkward after that and kept saying that I wanted to poo. I went to the toilet and sat on the toilet bowl for a good whole 15 minutes. In the end, some part of the suppository was passed out in the process. Luckily, part of the suppository took effect and my temperature began to drop under the scary 39°C mark. Daddy and Mommy kept sponging me with cold water. I didn’t like that feeling of cold water getting onto my forehead. But Daddy told me that if I didn’t allow him to sponge me, he would have to administer another dose of suppository if my temperature went too high. I had no choice but to allow the sponging to continue.

I went to take a nap at around 2pm and it turned out to be my record breaking nap – from 2pm to 9pm. At 9pm, I woke up for a short milk break before falling back to sleep again. Throughout the night, Daddy constantly monitored my temperature and my temperature was below 37°C throughout the night.

Wednesday (02/05/2007)
In the morning, my temperature went up again despite I was okay throughout the night last night. It was already day number 3. Daddy and Mommy were pretty worried and decided to make a trip to visit Dr Koh. As expected, I was given antibiotics and a lot of other medicines too. At the same time, I got an update of my weight and height - height: 91cm and weight: 14.2kg.

Daddy had to visit a doctor too coz he was infected by my virus and was down with fever too. He was given 2 days of MC to rest at home. Mommy stayed at home to look after both of us.

In the late afternoon after I woke up from my nap, Mommy got the scare of her lift when she discovered that my temperature hit 40°C. Without any delay, Daddy administered a dose of suppository. Lucky, that did the trick and my temperature managed to drop after a short while. My temperature stayed under 37°C throughout the night again (just like Tuesday night).

Thursday (03/05/2007)
Somehow, my fever came back in the morning again. Since Daddy stayed home with me since he was on MC. For most part of the day, my temperature lingered at around 37.4°C. In fact, Daddy seemed more sick than me and he should be the one who should rest more. I was a good gal and I didn’t bother Daddy much. When Daddy took a nap in the afternoon, I took my nap too.

Today (04/05/2007)
Finally, it was the end of this long fever episode. My temperature was normal and I went back to school. After such a long break, I wasn’t used to going the school. This morning, I even claimed that I didn’t need to go to school coz I wasn’t well and I was having fever… =P.
