Last Lesson of the Semester

Today was one of those rare weekends that I managed to stay in bed past the 8.30am mark. I spent some time looking for Mommy but she was nowhere in sight (that is the very first thing I usually will do when I wake up). Daddy told me that Mommy had gone to market to buy ingredients for my lunch. With no program for the morning, we stayed at home until it was time for my usual Saturday lesson.

Last Lesson of the Semester
Time really flies, today’s lesson was the last of this semester. Mommy will let me carry on with another semester.

There was an “end-of-semester test” for us today – we were supposed to recite the “memory train” in the class. Mommy had been giving me “intensive training” in the car for the past two weeks. I am able to recall at least 90% of the card (with some hints from Mommy of coz). However, while in the class, I refused to open my “golden mouth” (as usual).

I made a trifle for myself during today’s lesson – with custard, peaches, gelatin jelly, sponge cake. It is my favourite kind of project work coz I get to eat my work after that… hehe. I love the jelly so much that I ate only the jelly while leaving the rest almost untouched.

The best part – eating my work… =)

A New Bad Habit
Daddy notices that I have developed an annoying habit recently. I like to say “no” whenever Daddy/Mommy asks me whether I still want certain thing. But after a short while, I will demand for that thing again. For example, when I was having my afternoon milk at Gabriel’s house just now, I passed my bottle (with 2 oz of milk remaining) to Daddy and told him that I didn’t want it anymore. Daddy repeated the question whether I still want my milk for several times with me saying “no”. However, after 5 minutes, I went crying to Daddy claiming that I wanted my milk. By that time, Daddy had already washed my bottle. I started to fuss big time, crying for my milk – only to get a earful from Daddy… =(.

School Updates
It had been a short week at school for me this week – I went to school for only 2 days (Thursday and Friday) as I was down with fever since Monday. Mommy spent a day with me on Monday while Daddy handled me for Tuesday and Wednesday.

An Excursion to The Zoo

Last night’s party wore me out totally, I knocked out immediately after a quick shower and a milk feed. This morning, I woke up earlier than the usual Sunday morning coz we would be going to a zoo excursion with Aidan and Gabriel. Mommy even stocked up my excursion bag with some tidbits and a bottle of water. And off we went to pick up GuGu and Aidan.

All ready for my zoo trip

Photos with Aidan and Gabriel

We arrived early and had breakfast in KFC while waiting for Gabriel to arrive. In the end, I went inside first (with Aidan) to catch the sealion feeding, only to realize that the sealion enclosure was closed for upgrading. Feeling disappointed, we headed to our second stop – the polar bear enclosure as we had arranged to meet up with Mommy and Gabriel there. However, for some reasons, I wasn’t keen in seeing the polar bear. I started to fuss and pulled Daddy away in the opposite direct. After a few minutes of persuading, Daddy finally convinced me that we had to wait for Mommy and Gabriel there. He told me that I could also look away from the enclosure if I didn’t want to see the polar bear. We finally met up with Gabriel and Aunty Kelly there.

Our next stop was the giraffe feeding – which was one of my favourites coz the giraffes would come very near to us. I was very excited and kept on telling Daddy ”the giraffe is so cute”.

After the giraffe feeding, we made a stop at the cat country and the fragile forest before taking a lunch break at the Children’s World Playland. I had some bun for lunch before going down to the playground to play. Now, I could run around the playground alone without Daddy/Mommy by my side. However, I spent my time only at the section of the smaller kids while Aidan was more adventurous to try out the one for older kids.

Enjoying my time @ the playground

We were late for the Animal Friends show at the Children's World Animal Land. All the available seats were taken and we could only stand around at the back to catch the show. But we still enjoyed the show… =). The show showcased some dogs performing tricks.

We had a lot of fun today. Finally, it was time to say goodbye to each other as all of us were feeling tired by 1.30pm. During our journey home, Aidan and I even had a mini picnic in the back seat of the car… hehe. I was so wore out that I fell asleep immediately after a shower and drinking a bottle of milk.

Aidan's Third Birthday Party

Aidan’s Third Birthday Celebration
Today, Aidan celebrated his third birthday with a party at home in the evening and we were invited. Mommy planned to let me take a nap before the party. This time round, her plan was well executed. I took a bottle of milk during the journey home after my lesson and fell asleep in the car as planned. I managed to wake up just before 6pm, feeling recharged and all ready for the party… =).

By the time we arrived, most of the guests were already there. As usual, I didn’t dare to enter the house coz there were too many unfamiliar faces inside. I insisted on waiting for Daddy to carry me into the house. Once inside, I sat around watching my two cousins (Aidan and Keith) palyed but I didn’t join them. I played with Daddy instead, trying to warm myself up.

Fishing with Daddy

I managed to have slightly more interaction with Aidan and Keith after the dinner. However, most of the time, they were fighting for toys, balloon and some other things – I preferred just to watch “the show” by the side instead.

Since we were the only three children around, we were once again the center of attention during the cake cutting session (instead of just Aidan… hehe). The cake was a chocolate cake from Awfully Chocolate. During the session, we created so much entertainment for the adults, especially the part where Keith beat Aidan to blow off the candles… hehe.

Happy after eating the yummy chocolate cake... =)

School Updates
I still cry every morning when Daddy/Mommy drop me off at the school. My crying usually last around five minutes. Other than the crying in the morning, it seems like I am getting used to the school and my classmates. I am interacting with my classmates by playing with them and getting more involved in project work as well. Our latest project was a “Get Well” card. Teacher Yani wasn’t feeling well and she hadn’t been with us for some time. This week, Teacher Jamie helped our class to make a “Get Well” card for her.

Shopping @ OG Chinatown

Last night, I slept throughout from 6.30pm onwards but woke up for milk twice since I skipped dinner. Naturally, I woke up early this morning. After a tiring day (even Mommy was tired), we toned down a bit today. Mommy wanted to do some shopping @ OG Chinatown.

We went over to Chinatown Point for breakfast first. The Coffee Beans was rather crowded this morning. As a result, Mommy opted for the less crowded Swensen’s. She shared a kid’s meal with me. I love the sausages and the apple juice there… =).

Breakfast @ Swensen’s

We went over to OG after our breakfast and we were still five minutes early (they open at 11am). Once again, we were stuck at the Children’s section again. This time round, I was more keen in running around. I realized that it is much easier to run around with my canvas shoes… hehe.

There weren’t many people around despite the storewide sales (probably it was still early considering that it was a Sunday morning). There was plenty of room to play “catching” with Daddy. I was busy running and screaming “I scare of Daddy” whenever I ran into Daddy’s path. Daddy had never seen me running so much in a single morning.

After the shopping trip, we packed back lunch and stayed at home for the rest of the day.
My new cap… =)

My First “Music Video”
I love to sing since I started school. And I have picked up many songs. Daddy shot my first “music video” today… =P.

Visiting Aunty YanLing and Baby Raxane

I woke up at 6.30am for my morning milk and refused to go back to sleep after that. Daddy didn’t want to entertain me while Mommy was still fast asleep. In the end, I entertained myself by singing to myself (nowadays, I really enjoyed singing to myself). After a while, Daddy couldn’t stand it and brought me out to the living room so that I wouldn’t be disturbing Mommy. Daddy wondered why I also woke up so early on days that I don’t need to go to school.

Testing My Canvas Shoes
After Mommy woke up, we went to Ya Kun for breakfast coz she felt like having a light breakfast. Daddy put on a pair of canvas shoes for me as he claimed that I am putting on a little too much weight. He said that it was time for me to do some exercise, so he left the car on home and we walked to our destination. I love this pair of canvas shoes and started running as soon as we reached downstairs.

Stopped by the garden to look @ the flowers

Enjoying my little jog

Daddy ordered two pieces of soft bread for me but I preferred the toasted one plus a half boiled egg and a packet of fresh milk.

Daddy asked me to pose

Back to Tampines

I am in purple today – purple shirt, shoes and hair clips… =)

Mommy decided to drop by Tampines before my lesson in the afternoon. Too much running around in the morning made me feel very tired plus I woke up too early, eventually I fell asleep in the car during the journey there. I continued with my nap while we were at GongGong’s place, only to wake up from my nap after I fell off YiYi’s bed (fortunately, YiYi had placed a mattress below).

I was making progress with GongGong today. I willingly to let him carried me around but only limited to within the house. When GongGong tried to bring me downstairs, I almost broke down in tears, forcing GongGong to return me back to Mommy.

Lesson @ Aunty Ros’s Place
I learned a big word during the lesson today – “metamorphosis” (a process whereby an animal develops from a physical form to another form during its life cycle, eg egg -> tadpole -> frog). At the end of the lesson, we were given a few mealworms in a container. Hopefully we could see them change from mealworm to pupa and finally to beetle. Luckily Daddy accompanied me for the lesson today coz Mommy hates those creepy crawlers.

Visiting Aunty YanLing and Baby Raxane
Today’s schedule was really packed. After the lesson, we had to make a last stop at Punggol to visit Aunty YanLing and Baby Raxane.

Hello, Baby Raxane

Rafe wasn’t around as Uncle Joey brought him out to cycle. Luckily there are enough toys to entertain myself, there is even a rabbit and a motorized motorcycle… =). Daddy noticed a slight change in me; I am more daring to explore new places without the presence of Daddy/Mommy now.

So many toys… and a motor...

Aunty QingLi also came over along with KaiJie. And it turned out that KaiJie is shier than me (constantly behind his daddy/mummy most of the time).

The activities really wore me out and I felt asleep in the car again during the journey home.

School Updates:
Teacher Jamie dropped Mommy an e-mail to share with her my recent progress in school. She mentioned that I am more active and smiley now. On top of that, I am trying to learn to take care of myself too – like putting on and taking off my pant. The email reads:

Today, Laoshi and Idayu encouraged Esther to pull up her pants and she was able to pull it up from halfway (Idayu assisted the beginning). She wasvery happy!
Also, at the playground, she was running and playing with some friends.

Daddy and Mommy's Day Off

Last night, I pooed two more times in my sleep. Other than the wet stool, I seemed perfectly ok. Daddy would monitor me for a day to see if my condition would improve before taking me to the doctor.

After my breakfast, Daddy asked me if I would like to go over to Nanny’s place to play for an afternoon and I happily said “YES”. After my shower, Daddy and Mommy dropped me off at Nanny’s place. They had an afternoon off while I spent the rest of the afternoon playing with HuiQi JieJie and Nanny. It was a prefect chance for Daddy and Mommy to continue the unfinished shopping trip.

I had a wonderful time there and didn’t want to leave when Daddy came over to fetch me at around 6.30pm. Daddy wished that I will behave in this similar manner when I go to school too.

I even brought back a pack of Happy Meal from Nanny’s place… =)

Shopping @ Raffles City

Mommy told me that there wouldn’t be any lesson for me today, so she decided to do some shopping for Aidan and Keith coming birthday. After that, we could go back to Tampines to visit GongGong and Aunty YanLing.

We chose to go to Raffles City coz Robinson was having promotion at their Children’s section. It had been a long time since we went out for a shopping trip like this.

Lunching @ SuShi Tei
Mommy thought that it would be a good idea to have our lunch first and we ended up in Sushi Tei coz the foodcourt’s air ventilation wasn’t very good. We were seated beside the conveyor belt. It was my second time here but my first time seeing the conveyor belt. It was very interesting to see the different colour plates going pass in front of me - Daddy should have brought me here long time ago… =).

Watching the plates of sushi going pass me

Mommy ordered a bowl of udon for me. They watched while I ate since they weren’t keen on the food there. I almost managed to finish the whole bowl of udon by myself.

I love udon… =)

Daddy noticed something strange about me after I ate my lunch – he noticed that I had been standing on the seat since then. As he had suspected, I pooed again in my diaper and it was a wet one too (it was the second time today). Daddy brought me to change my diaper while Mommy settled the bill. Mommy confirmed that I was having diarrhea. But the funny part was that I seemed very healthy and actively – I didn’t look sick at all. To play safe, Mommy decided against going back to Tampines, just planned to shop around and go back to rest after that.

Shopping @ Robinson
After the diaper change, we headed straight to the Children’s section. Mommy went off to shop around while Daddy and I looked for presents for my two cousins in the toy section (actually I was more interested in looking for toys for myself… hehe). I was so engrossed in the toys that I didn’t even bother about it when Daddy moved out of sight; I just stood at the same spot to play with the toys. I spent around an hour there before Mommy came over after completing her shopping and used ice cream as bait to draw me away from the toys.

Sharing a scoop of ice cream with Mommy

A Painful Lesson
While we were in this accessories shop, I turned suddenly to Mommy and shouted “hot hot” with my right index finger sticking out. Mommy tried to see what was wrong with my finger but she couldn’t spot anything. Then Daddy came over and realized that I might scald my finger by touching the naked light bulb on the display. He quickly took me to a tap and placed my finger under the running water for a while, but it was too late – a little bubble had already formed on my finger.

Daddy then explained to me that I shouldn’t touch anything that is bright and glows coz it is usually very hot. I learnt my lesson, I didn’t dare to step into that shop when Daddy went back there to complete his purchase. After that incident, I wanted Daddy to carry me and eventually fell asleep on Daddy’s shoulder. Mommy decided to call it a day.
My little poor index finger… =(

When I woke up from my nap, I showed NaiNai the bubble on my finger and “told” her what happened just now. It felt so awkward with this bubble on my finger that I couldn’t do any thing right with my right index finger sticking out.

School Updates: End of First Official Month
Up to date, I have officially spent a full month in school. I am still crying when Daddy and Mommy dropped me off in school every morning. The best thing that happened this week was that Teacher Yani (my form teacher) left Daddy/Mommy a note in my communications book on Tuesday and it reads:

Hi,

Today Esther didn’t cry as much as before. She is beginning to mingle around with the other children. And also being helpful by helping keeping the mattress and arranging chairs. But still clings to me as in making sure that I have to be around.

Yani

It was a heartwarming message for Daddy and Mommy (especially Mommy), knowing that I am beginning to adapt to school.
