A New Hangout

Today was the 7th lesson of the semester @ Kindermusik. The lesson @ Knidermusik will end next week. Time really flies… I heard that Mommy had new plan for me – she is going to sign me up for lessons @ Growing-Up Gifted. It will be the 2pm lesson (1.5 hours long) on every Sunday starting from 30 April. The lessons will last for 8 weeks. I hope I will enjoy the lessons. =)
Mini “War” With Daddy
I fought a mini “war” with Daddy in the morning. Daddy feels that I am too sticky to Mommy and it will not do us (Mommy and me) any good if I want any MeiMei or DiDi. When I kicked a big fuss this morning and demanded for Mommy’s attention, Daddy prevented me from going to Mommy. I wasn’t happy @ all. I started crying and screaming non-stop for Mommy and pointed in all directions, attempted to look for Mommy. I searched the whole house but Mommy was nowhere to be found. My crying and screaming died down slowly coz I was getting tired.

In the end, I found her standing outside the flat (@ the corridor). Although I lost the “battle” (coz Daddy “successfully” prevented Mommy from comforting me), I won the “war” coz Mommy gave me a bottle of Yakult to comfort me after the ordeal.

Lesson @ Kindermusik
In the afternoon, Mommy attended the whole of today’s session @ Kindermusik with me (while I gave Daddy a day off). I loved the part with the parachute when I ran under it… it was fun.

After the lesson, we headed down to United Square coz Mommy needed to pay the course fee for the new program @ Growing-Up Gifted. This will be my new hangout for the coming May and June. I had a walk to survey the area. Not bad – many stores to shop, bigger area to roam, more eateries to choose from… hehe.

Playgroup Cancelled

Playgroup Cancelled
Our Saturdays are usually lined up with activities and appointments. But for today, we didn’t have any programme @ all coz the intended playgroup was cancelled today due to expected low turnout. Instead, I had a mini lesson in the kitchen this morning. NaiNai was teaching me the difference between an onion and a garlic.
Which is onion? Which is garlic?

Mini Shopping Spree
With no programme, we went on a shopping spree instead.

1st Stop: Raffles City
Mommy went down to Raffles City to collect tickets for “Disney on Ice”. Yes – I will be watching “Disney On Ice” with Aidan and Keith KorKor on 18 March. Only the adults need to purchase tickets to watch, we (babies less than 2 years old) will watch it for free… hehe.

2nd Stop: Bras Basah Complex
Visiting the Children Book Store (@ Level 4, Bras Basah Complex) is a must whenever Mommy comes here. They have a lot of nice and relatively cheap books there. I enjoyed coming here too. We spent around an hour there. I explored the whole store while Mommy checked out the books. I had a lot of fun too (by shifting the books from location A to location B). But Daddy didn’t seem to be very happy about that (coz he needed to return the books back to their original locations =P). In the end, Mommy bought six more books while I chose a book of my preference.

Daddy bought me a whiteboard which I could stick my magnetic alphabets. Actually Mommy had been nagging for a whiteboard for a very long time. Daddy finally got it done today.

Lastly, Mommy completed her shopping with a set of mandarin flashcards. She had been searching high and low for a set of mandarin flashcards and finally found one in a Chinese book store @ Level 3 of Bras Basah Complex.

3rd Stop: Intended to go Bugis Junction (But went Home instead)
Mommy wanted to proceed to Bugis Junction but Daddy suggested going back home to unload the bags of shopping bags (which were too heavy to carry around).
Catch of the Day

Uneventful Night
Mommy proposed to eat @ Bugis Junction. But Daddy suggested Amara Hotel coz he didn’t want to travel too far away. After spending 45 minutes walking around Amara Hotel, Daddy and Mommy couldn’t find anything decent for dinner. In the end, we caught a taxi down to HarbourFront (Daddy didn’t want to spend another 15 minutes standing at the same spot waiting for the bus to come).

It was pretty crowded @ HarbourFront. We settled down @ Breeks and I started to have mine dinner 1st coz it was pretty late (around 8pm). When Daddy and Mommy ordered their food, they were told that they would need to wait for 30 minutes for their food. Daddy and Mommy couldn’t believe their ears. They decided not to wait, cancelled their order, packed up my dinner (only managed to finish a serving) and left.

After much walking around, they finally had their dinner @ Delifrance. And I finished the remaining part of my dinner there. I had some garlic bread as well.

The night was not completed without going to the BIG Superstore. They were having a warehouse sale (that would explain why HarbourFront was so crowded tonight). Daddy finally got me a pair of desktop speakers (which Mommy requested for since she was pregnant).

My MMR Injection

Daddy said that I am due for my MMR injection and he brought me (with Mommy) to visit Dr. Koh after work today.

I had heard that it was pretty painful (don’t think there is any injection which is not painful one). Sharwyn and Gabriel just had their injection too and they had this “magical” plaster that would make the injection less painful, I wondered if Dr. Koh has that as well.

Anyway, I was rather wary about Dr. Koh’s action throughout the consultation session. When I saw he took out the needle, I was a little bit scared. But Mommy held on to me tightly and Daddy got hold of my leg. Everything happened in a flash and it was over (even Mommy was surprised by the speed). I didn’t really feel much – no tear and no crying. =)

After the injection, we had dinner @ the foodcourt. Finally, they bought some baby chairs for the foodcourt.

Some updates on me:
Weight: 11.1 kg (lost 0.4 kg since my last measurement some 2-3 weeks ago)
Height: 81.5 cm

Happy Birthday Mommy !!!

Happy birthday to you… Happy birthday to you… Happy birthday to Mommy… Happy birthday to youuuuuu…

Today is Mommy’s XXth birthday (Mommy said can’t disclose her age). I got a small little present for Mommy too (to match Mommy’s purple handphone). Since today is Mommy’s birthday, Daddy volunteered to take over the cooking for today. Daddy prepared mushroom and tomato omelette and fish soup for my lunch. I think Daddy needed more practice with his omelette coz it looked terrible (lucky the taste was still ok).

I also decided to give Mommy an “off-day” as well during the Kindermusik lesson (I allowed Daddy to attend the whole session with me).

We decided to hang around in Orchard until dinner time. First stop was Isetan. I took my milk and knocked out in my pram until it was time for dinner.

Mommy’s Birthday Dinner
We were spoilt with choices by the options that we had for dinner - there were seafood buffet, steamboat buffet, western steak house, Japanese, Thailand, Indonesian, Chinese dinner for us to choose from.

In the end, Daddy and Mommy selected to dine in this Sanur Indonesian Restaurant. They ordered beef rendang, deep fried baby squids, Gado-Gado, mixed curry veggie and Ice Chendol for dessert. Today was the first time I ate out (sharing table food with Daddy and Mommy for dinner). I had rice with some veggie from the mixed curry veggie and Gado-Gado.

After dinner, we went over to Kinokuniya for a walk. Mommy was looking for some mandarin flashcards and storybooks while I roamed around on my own (after Daddy stalking behind me of coz).

It was just a simple birthday dinner (with Daddy and me) for Mommy this year. Hope that she doesn’t mind that =).

Visiting Aunty Cindy

Breakfast @ Coffee Beans
It had been a long time since we last went out for breakfast. Daddy and Mommy were in the mood to go out for breakfast this morning. As usual, we went to Chinatown Point and settled for Coffee Beans’ breakfast. Daddy shared his toast with me.

Cat is Mommy’s favourite animal. And I like cat too. This cat @ the market is very friendly (it never run away when I go near it).

Visiting GongGong @ Tampines
We went back to Tampines in the afternoon. The weather was so hot that Mommy gave up the idea of taking MRT-bus and we took taxi back instead.

Nowadays, it is less boring to visit since I started walking. I can walk around the whole place to explore every single corner of the house. Today, Gong Gong attempted to bring me downstairs to “show-off” again. Of coz he didn’t make it again this time although he managed to bring me to the ground floor (previously, he only managed to bring me as far as the lift before I started crying for Mommy).

Visiting Aunty Cindy
Aunty Cindy was Mommy’s ex-colleague in school and she had not seen her for a few years. Since we were around in the neighbourhood, Mommy dropped by to pay her a visit.

I thought I was in Japan when I first stepped into Aunty Cindy’s house (her husband is a Japanese). There are a lot of decors and ornaments from Japan. She even has a room covered with tatami mat. She has three beautiful daughters (I met two of the JieJies today). The JieJies were very nice coz they bought me a present (a stuffed rabbit).

We stayed for dinner. Aunty Cindy prepared fish porridge for me and Japanese curry rice for Mommy and Daddy. Mommy spent most of the time chatting with Aunty Cindy – leaving me to wonder around the house. Lucky there were two big JieJies to entertain me… hehe.

Thank you Aunty Cindy.

I had a long day today and I missed my afternoon nap. I was so tired that I fell asleep shortly after we boarded the taxi. Mommy and Daddy didn’t get me out of my dress and just let me sleep peaceful.

New Furniture Set @ Home

I had a surprise waiting for me when I arrived home tonight.

Mommy bought me a set of table and chair today. It was a second-hand set which cost Mommy only $20 (bundled with a lot of parenting books for Mommy). Now, I had table and chair for me to do “homework”… hehe.

Playgroup Session 5

Playgroup Session 5
We resumed our playgroup session today after the CNY break.

Attendance: Athena, Gabriel, Justin, Sharwyn, Rhyan and Me (MIA: Quinn)
Theme: Phonics - “B” (Same as last session)
Playgroup Outline:
1. Welcome Song and Sing-A-Long (All)
2. Story Telling (by Aunty Sherlyn) – Aunty Sherlyn told a story about “A Very Lazy Ladybird” who refused to fly. The story was very interesting coz there were a lot of animals featured inside the story and we “learned” about many actions the animals could execute.
3. Flashcards Session (by Mommy) – Mommy went around to flash the flashcards to each baby and today’s theme was about colours.
Break
4. Yoga Session (by Uncle Kevin) – Uncle Kevin introduced some new poses which required us to lay on our bellies. I wasn't in a good mood to try although it seemed like most of my friends were having fun.
5. Phonics Time (by Aunty Mel) – We continued with the introduction of the letter “B”.
6. Mandarin Session (by Aunty Apple) – Aunty Apple read a story book to us on the sounds various animals made.
7. Arts & Crafts (by Aunty Kelly) – It was colouring again. This time, Aunty Kelly printed triangle, square, circle and rectangle on a piece of paper for us to colour on. We had to fill the shapes with colours as specified by Mommy.

Yoga Session

Art & Crafts Session

We had lunch @ Punggol Plaza after the playground session (with Gabriel and Sharwyn). It was way past my morning nap after my lunch, no wonder I was feeling really tired. With a full stomach, I fell into my dreamland shortly.

GD Seminar @ Great World City
Mommy, GuGu and Aunty SuShuang had arranged to attend a seminar at the Great World City in the late afternoon. And my room became a temporary “child-care centre”. Aidan KorKor came over to play with me until it was time to meet Mommy for dinner. NaiNai and Aunty Momey entertained me and Aidan while Daddy was busy preparing my dinner.

We arrived early @ Great World City and walked around for a while. Daddy noticed that I am very generous with my kisses… hehe.

We had our dinner @ Country Mania (Uncle Justin and Keith KorKor joined us for the dinner). I had my home-cooked pasta with some of Mommy’s baked potato.

After dinner, we spent some time walking aimlessly around the mall. I enjoyed it very much coz it was a big open space for us (Keith, Aidan and me) to run around. I enjoyed chasing after Aidan but he was too fast for me. I enjoyed imitating the actions Aidan did… it was really fun. =)
